I have been wizz off with my regular Napa store and furthermore it was the Napa warehouse in Las Vegas for problem related to being charged for a single point set in a box when there is supposed to be two in a box for A/T set ups. The manager was barely able to speak english and after I called back a week later, he just told me to forgot orders from Standard Brand products for my 72 240 Z. Yeah, it is quite an insult for Napa having quite a distributor in my region with no will to find why Standard in Virginia confirmed every JP7p-2 always come in a set of two in each boxes. These people are so stupid and Standard brand no taking care of the problem that I switched to Wor…

Has anyone serviced the the two driveshaft sliding sections? Is it difficult? Can it be done without taking off the u-joint? My u-joints seem fine but the in and out motion seems stiff. The manual says to service every 50,000 miles. Mike

Ok I dont think my stock electric fuel pump is operating. I cannot hear it when I turn the key to "on" without starting the Z (73 240Z). I checked the wiring and I have power back there when the key is on, but the pump doesn't work. The manual pump works fine and the Z is running off of that. Now here's the question. Should I replace the electric pump with an after market one and remove the manual pump or run off the manual pump? I am sure there are benefits to both. I have seen the fuel pump block out plates out there but I dont know the benefits to removing the manual pump. Any Ideas?

Trying to put a 77 diff into a 75 body using the 77 crossmember with a solid diff mount. The problem is the centering bolt is too far forward by an inch. I can't locate this issue in the searches (too much information, nothing specific). Any suggestions on what might be wrong? Any chance the mount itself is wrong? I am assuming:finger:that the diff is physically the same in the 75 as is in the 77. Thanks! Leonard

As the paint and suspension work are finishing up I'm wishing to formulate some engine upgrade strategies, probably in phases. Since the 280Z is fuel injected I want some help with knowing how far I can go with it. Mr. Cerutti's 280 is on far far end on my thinking - computer programmed 280 ZXT, raced out, etc., so that might be consider Phase 4 with an EFI engine. That said, what would be Phase 1 with the stock engine? My inexperienced thinking says K&N intake, 6-into-1 headers, 2.5" exhaust, upgraded coil, advanced timing, basically bolt-on stuff. Phase 2 at rebuild time perhaps a cam, lighter flywheel. Thoughts?

I'm in central VA, in case that makes it more convenient (but am happy to ship the head), and I am looking for an engine builder/shop to do a general check of valve and guide wear and a to perform a quality valve job. The head was originally redone by the guy that did most of Malvern Racing's machine shop work. It has Manley stainless valves (1mm larger intake) and hardened seats already. I've spent a bunch of time over the winter modifying the combustion chambers and porting it and a tripple manifold in preparation for putting in a high lift/duration cam and tripple mikuni's. So, the work I'm looking to have done is likely just a valve job and possibly the cam instal…

Long waited braided radiator hose kit finally available from us It was very expensive and hard process to make them just like original ones. These will be also available from limited suppliers shortly . MSA will be one. It looks and feels like original with high quality rubber and material. It is made by one of Nissan's supplier in Japan. It looks just like Genuine Nissan original braided hoses that are no longer available for a long time. New Old Stock hoses are not as reliable anyway. It fits 1969-1973 240Z It is only sold as a set only this time. (*Upper hoses fit all 260Z and 280Z cars.) Opening special price at $159 including shipping for US main island. $25…

I got my car running after changing ballast resistor. It starts up nicely like under palm tree. Actually when little warm, it starts better than my daily driver Anyways, i started the engine and let it run for 5 or so minutes, i checked the gauges and heat was almost at the red bar so i instantly turned it off. It roared a bit after i turned it off, almost like it was starting by itself. There was no unusual smoke, no leaking of water. I removed thermostat and gonna change that first. Any other reason why it might have overheated?

I wasn't sure where to post this, but it's engine-related so I'll start here. My question is in relation to where the vacuum that creates the advance in the distributor (among other things the car uses it for) is really made. It stands to reason that it's the pistons creating the physical vacuum during their intake strokes and that vacuum is translated through the intake manifolds as air flows to fill that vacuum. Yes? If it turns out I'm wrong already, someone please correct me. Anyway, with the pistons generating a vacuum, does it also stand to reason that installing an oversize block (a 2.8 in place of a 2.4, for example) can offset the function of the devices th…
