Well, sorry to dominate all the recent forum activity, but I’m really trying to get this thing done! I’ve got an electrical problem somewhere. I’ve read what feels like 100 posts regarding the turn signals. I’ve studied the following links heavily and still can’t seem to figure it out: https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/16435-72-240z-brake-light-wiring/ https://fiddlingwithzcars.wordpress.com/2013/01/20/hazard-switch-brake-light-turn-signal-circuit-analysis/ THE PROBLEM: I have no brake lights or front/rear turn signals HERE’S WHAT DOES WORK: Hazards (front and rear), Headlights & Tail lights, Reverse Lights, Brake light switch, all fuses are good, al…

Im doing some basic checks on my L28 engine before firing it up. Came across this oil spray bar that definitely isn’t stock. Anyone see one like this before? It might be aftermarket, but I’m leaning more towards someone’s home brew creation. Given the inherent weakness of the stock spray bar (from researching the forum), I’m consider keeping this one and using it. Can’t really think of a reason not to if it appears to do the job. Nonetheless, has anyone seen one like this before in the aftermarket space? Or is it DIY? Any reason not to keep using it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fresh from winters hibernation, took Z out for a short ride. Hit a mile stone of 70,000 miles. All good until I returned home and found my recently cleaned motor had oil sprayed on passenger side of motor and firewall. Found the pump decided to blow oil out of the weep hole. Over the winter I bought a new Nikki fuel pump, rebuilt the top half of the original pump. The bottom part containing the rubber shaft seal appeared to be fine so it wasn’t changed. Cleaned up the mess then removed and disassembled pump, sure enough the seal was torn.. Luckily I saved the remains of the donor fuel pump, swapped out the seal and reassembled, hopefully it last another 54 years.

So many Z's, of all numerologies, have popped up that I thought it might be good to collect them here. Feel free to add old or new stuff. There's a bunch out there right now, for some reason. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1975-datsun-280z-26/ https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-datsun-280z-38/ https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64614-1270-on-ebay-barn-find/ https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/62501-brand-new-280z/ https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64653-1970-nissan-fairlady-z-hs30-03647-on-craigslist/ https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/64539-31k-miles-series-i-240z-up-for-auction-on-bat-over-100k-on-first-…

Anyone have a good suggestion to what after market cruise control to install? So many on the market. My first concern would be not so intrusive on the dash.

I have the original AC compressor and it looks like in a decent shape. Is there a reliable place where these can be rebuilt? I am planning to grab some R12 from a guy locally and use that. or do u guys recommend putting R132? also i would need condensor and receiver drier. Where to get those? Also is it a DIY job to remove the compressor etc. and put it back? Would really appreciate any guidance. My heater works fine. The 2nd owner had the AC switch wire near heater control pulled off to keep the compressor disenageged.

I thought that there was a forum for this though did not see it nor could I find a related thread so I'm starting one. I recently saw an S30 Z car on Miami Vice season 3 episode 11 about 30-33 minutes in (on the TV version with commercials, a DVD version it will be earlier that this of course). In this video it is about 27-28 minutes in: https://www.nbc.com/classic-tv/miami-vice/video/forgive-us-our-debts/n30591

I have a 2.8L that’s been converted to a mechanical fuel pump. However I popped the valve cover off today and found that no fuel pump eccentric was ever installed.[emoji849] Is the eccentric the same for 240z, 260z, 280z? If so, anyone know where I can find one? Anything special about the install? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well after spending the past month in the "Help Me!" section, my 1975 280z lives! I figured it is a good time to start a build thread in the proper section to showcase my next steps. Lets see, where do we start? The story goes that this 1975 280z was an Arizona car for the majority of its life. The owner parked it sometime around 1993 (last registered tags) due to an "ignition issue". It certainly looks the part for sitting nearly 30 years. Odometer says 80k miles, but maybe this is 180k? Looks like it was the silver blue originally then repainted, and finally the fading took over. The engine turned freely and nothing seemed to be seized. It was a clean title and onl…

Has anyone on here installed the Kyusha House electronic fuel pump bracket (https://kyushahouse.myshopify.com/products/zsm-custom-nismo-fuel-pump-bracket-for-s30-240z-280z)? If so do you have any pictures of it installed?
