Z's on BAT and other places collection

Recommended Posts

So many Z's, of all numerologies, have popped up that I thought it might be good to collect them here.  Feel free to add old or new stuff.  There's a bunch out there right now, for some reason.

It annoys me when people in my life say I should sale my Zs while the market's up like it is. They look at BAT and ebay then advise me about cars I know better than they know their kids. LOL

That's a $250,000 car.

Funny, but Pierre Z worked on it prior to the auction.  He worked on the 31k mile Z.  Did you put those wheels on it?

I did, they are Appliance wheels as I remember.

No wipers! 8 owners and no wipers. LOL

The car is in Cali now so who needs wipers?  It certainly had the original wipers when it left me.

A couple of new ones have popped up.  A 71 and a 72.

Just for fun.  I had a hardtop 69 in high school.

The 78 is ending in a short while.  Up to $22,780.  Anybody know who ZIndustries is?  Are they an established business or did they just make up a name to sell a Z for this auction?  Sounds like a salesman..."I can assure you", "this is the best color combination of all", yada yada yada.

I can hardly ever figure out your sarcasm Zed Head. I'm glad I don't work for you. LOL

I was serious, I thought it was about right.  An old refurb'ed 1978 280Z, mid 30's price.  Seems right.  I still think that other guy should have taken the $111,000 for the 240Z.

And, no offense, or sarcasm, I'm glad you don't work for me too.  I sense trouble... 😦

Haha! Agreed about it sounding like salesman. Best year for the EFI? What is about 78 that makes it so much more refined? My 77's feelings are hurt.

And the dash... So he installed a new repro from the guys that are making them. HIS supplier.

I mean, it's well written sales literature. It's just a little over the top for me.   LOL

280ZX https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1979-datsun-fairlady-280z/

Is this correct?  The 280ZX in Japan was called a 280

 I doubt this is a 280z...  It's a s130 chassis so it's a zx..

What's funny.. and seldom people see that.. the Z on the bonnet... eh.. hood is put back after paintjob upside down!  🙂  Also i think when i see all the mess inside the car it drove 172,000 km  not 72000km...

I bet the tag under the hood says: s130 nissan 280zx.. or it no longer has that tag.

This is correct. No 'X' on Japanese market S130 models:

*FAIRLADY Z ( S130S ) - L20E engine

*FAIRLADY Z-L ( S130 ) - L20E engine

*FAIRLADY Z-T ( S130J ) - L20E engine

*FAIRLADY Z 2 by 2 ( GS130S ) - L20E engine

*FAIRLADY Z-L 2 by 2 ( GS130 ) - L20E engine

*FAIRLADY Z-T 2 by 2 ( GS130J ) - L20E engine

*FAIRLADY 280Z-L ( HS130 ) - L28E engine

*FAIRLADY 280Z-T ( HS130J - BC ) - L28E engine

*FAIRLADY 280Z-L 2 by 2 ( HGS130 ) - L28E engine

Pretty sure that Hung Vu will sell to anybody.  If you can figure out how to reach him.  Doesn't seem to have a web site.

When I talk to older people here, they always confuse the 280zx with the 280, this might have something to do with it, or maybe not lol

Very.. Very nice List!  only the:  BY  should be a PLUS or:   "+"  then it's a perfect list of 280z/zx's  delivered only in Japan. (as i understand now!) Thanks for the list HS30-H !!

I know that the L20E was a 2 ltr engine for the s130 it had to do with high taxes in Japan if your car had more than 2.0 ltr engine..  so there are probably few 2,8ltr 280z/s130 cars?

No, again, Japanese market had its own ideas. 'G' prefix in the S130-series denoted '2/2' ('2 by 2') model and appropriate emblems, just as it did in the S30-series.

The '2 by 2' name was used extensively by Nissan in its sales and advertising for the cars. No '2+2' / 'Two plus Two' in the Japanese market. Export markets only.

Factory sales brochure. These are for the S30-series, but S130-series followed suit:
