  1. I would bet that's Dykem blue layout dye on those chambers. Somebody is using that photo to fool an unfortunate not very mechanical desk jockey looking at bat.com.
  2. He must've read about California Datsun then folded. Who in the hell paints a high temp combustion chamber? I wonder if the head is actually on a car or more for advertising flash BS?
  3. I'm sure the mouse trap springs were polished as well. It cost a little more but I had my lash pads polished on the last rebuild I did. I think I read that in the Honsowetz book? That blue looks good in the picture by the way. I wonder if that is the actual head that was installed or more "trickery" from California Datsun? Lipstick on a head.
  4. These are from 1972 when the dealer installed spoilers were put on. They aren't very noticeable to anyone but me. These are where the DATSUN emblem was. I removed that spoiler when I had the car's single stage paint cut and buffed out. Then repainted them in satin black. The rear was a huge pain getting off and even worse reinstalling it, FYI.
  5. Neither is Stihl.
  6. On my car the rear spoiler holes that are unsightly after 50 years are OE emblem placement. They put 240Z but covered up Datsun. So the holes where Da was are exsposed on my car.
  7. Pfff..my phone is 2 years old and works great. No need for name/model gratification. Pfff... Means "sigh" huh? well I been mowing grass all day so after some beer and dinner it's pfff..pfff..pfff..pass.
  8. I think I would keep the period correct upgrades and offer the OE parts as well when you decide to sale. When I read BRE and Mulholland it raises my interest. Just my fyi. Take it with a grain of salt...
  9. Or a pop-up book would've been good, maybe? This is what I first remember...
  10. For the "boobies"? I started out on another one but they all said "don't ask, use search" like they stayed on there all the time just to say we don't have time, do it yourself. Strike 1. Then one of the main "don't ask me" wanted money to marry his high school sweetheart that was homeless without him but he was broke. I knew then I wasn't going to listen to those fools and somehow stumbled on "blues tech tips". Been here everyday since. I owe him big for that. @240260280 the best draw for me. I need to know how to fix my Z, not so concerned with who designed it.
  11. I've read good things about uship.com. The guy that bought my Dad's el camino off bat.com used them too.
  12. I agree! That's the exact word I used in 2011. It would buck like hell up to 2,500RPM then pull good.
  13. Orange you gonna tell us?
  14. Thanks Zed. I won't have to climb thru my storage building again. I just found this from zkars too while you were posting.
  15. Looking at my 225 and 240mm hubs, yours looks like a 240mm. I took some measurements of the friction disc of both and a crappy pic of the difference in the hubs. Hope it helps. 225mm 240mm
  16. I have these on both my cars, 225mm flywheels. They grip good and are easy to use. Close to OE from all I read. https://www.amazon.com/EXEDY-06009-OEM-Replacement-Clutch/dp/B001B5D7TE
  17. Could need a new distributor cap and rotor button? Good luck.
  18. I am positive it is a number 1 favorite song I would love but unfortunately I can not hear it where I live. Thank you Kats.
  19. Here's a lot of reading on the GM mod I found. Hope you find something? https://www.google.com/search?q=240z+gm+alternator+classiczcars.com+&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&source=android-home&source=hp&ei=M6VEYp7zMMSfkPIP_9ifcA&oq=240z+gm+alternator+classiczcars.com+&gs_lcp=ChFtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1ocBADMgUIIRCgATIFCCEQoAEyBQghEKABOgUIABCABDoQCC4QsQMQxwEQ0QMQ1AIQCjoOCC4QsQMQgwEQxwEQowI6CAgAELEDEIMBOgsIABCABBCxAxCDAToFCC4QgAQ6CwguEIAEEMcBEK8BOgsILhCABBCxAxDUAjoRCC4QgAQQsQMQgwEQxwEQowI6CAgAEIAEELEDOggILhCABBCxAzoLCAAQgAQQsQMQyQM6BQgAEJIDOgYIABAWEB46BQgAEIYDOgUIIRCrAlCXDFjjngFgyasBaAFwAHgBgAHfAYgB-hSSAQYwLjE4LjGYAQCgAQGwAQA&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-hp
  20. Rubber edge trim or something like a bycycle tire tube would work? A more specific application would help. Cliff
  21. I looked back through my contacts and I always put "240Z" anytime I save their info. Nothing came up but I remember he owned a pain clinic and was ex-millitary so it was a Veteran's Administration affiliated clinic. He bought it then your city flooded and we did the swap about a month later. I asked him to join classiczcars.com but don't know if he's here or not? He always called me before the Alabama vs LSU games but that stopped a couple of years ago. I'm sorry I can't direct you to him, super nice fellow. We met in Tuscaloosa, halfway, we switched the U-haul trailer over to his truck without ever cranking the car. Must be my honest charm?
  22. Once you get "down South" you do not leave. 😎
  23. Yes it does! I sold that one to a good guy in Baton Rouge, LA. Ours has white interior though.
