  1. Just imagine standing on the side of the road and watching all your work burn up. It's sickening. I bought the rechargeable metal one from Lowes.
  2. I'm going to sing "reverse, reverse, reverse...baaaaack up. There's a time to go foward... toward a different end. There's a time to shut up and listen again and again... for everytime you think you have got it...you're wrong again and again and again..." Thank you! Elvis has left the toilet.
  3. +1 on a $20 fire extinguisher. Mine fits inside the tool bin behind the passenger's seat.
  4. And us old farts trust youtube, I'm hesitant to download videos from unknown source.
  5. I was painting my house and got to laughing thinking of you and Kathy telling me to turn again and again but I kept driving past y'all's hotel. I think I did at least 2 illegal U-turns. I know how glad you were when we were getting the luggage out. Can't wait to see you and Kathy soon. Cliff While I was painting my neighbors gave a Christmas present they had gotten but then they got Covid. Greater later I say.
  6. You and @Zup on I-85 in Atlanta is close to me and the crawl. I was scared for both you guys. Well then poor Mark and Kathy jumping in with me from Hartsville airport to Braselton after getting off a cross country plane ride. I think we're either nuts or very trusting. Maybe both?
  7. I'm 4 hours deeper into the humidity here. You get used to it like snow at your place I guess but no matter how humid it is I've never walked outside and not been able to see my car. We don't have to shovel it either. Oh yeah, I have a dehumidifier in my garage with a 2 gallon tank. My washer and dryer are down there too. I can fill up my washer from the dehumidifier once a week by dumping the tank in there. I'm a conservationist! (tight wad)
  8. I went to ZCON in Memphis Tennessee in 2015? and finally met and hung out with these guys. That was the beginning of a completely new relationship. We are from all over the map but have the same attitude and compassion for the Datsuns. It was life changing for me to be around such a group. Forever friends I can say without a doubt. Sorta makes biker gangs understandable to me, personally. I'd do anything for my Z friends and they would, and do, for me. You have to go to a ZCON. EDIT add to. If I had not had this community of friends on CZC these past years I would have had to seek therapy from the local mental health center. Alcohol can only do so much to help me. Trying to help others really is my selfishness that helps me.
  9. I did and found an amusing thread immediately.
  10. That's really insightful. I wonder what a Hummer forum would be like?
  11. It's been like a 4 year bee sting. Nothing debilitating buy annoying as hell. It'll take about a month for the swelling to go away and then I can get back to working in my garage and back to normal day to day boredom. Seinfeld in the morning, not the news. That can wait until the evenings again. Biden will go to bed, not tweet all night.
  12. Toubles come and they will pass
  13. A Banker!? I would've never guessed that.
  14. I've not purchased one of these so just a suggestion. https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic08f01
  15. Yes! Respect, like formally Mr Biden. President Maras? I like that.
  16. I see 2 different sands. Maybe one from Florida and one from Dubai?
  17. I see mine occasionally but it's always "shouldn't look this way".
  18. I agree with Mr Maras. You are only focused #4 so I assume you'll pull the head for that one cylinder? I would take the easiest route and try the rope technique first. He's right you'll need a valve spring compressor. The first time I had to do that I bought a $15 from a chain store. It worked for me.
  19. Welcome to the forum. Removing all those vacuum lines for efi to work to run SUs that only need a couple would be a challenge. The vacuum advace nipple on the front carb comes to mind for me. Then the '77 carbon canister and using the '77 fuel tank. There's a lot to do I've read. I have a '77 and want to put a spare set of SUs on there myself but it runs good so I'm not able to open that can of worms right now. Anyway, here's a thread you might could read over and get that lightbulb in your head idea. Good luck with it and you'll get some replies, mostly questions I bet.
  20. It's been awhile but the airflow sync I use to balance air flow I turned #10 screws on my '72 SUs. That spring loaded screw you're missing keeps the linkage tight and snug for butterfly respose. It's not really used to balance them but keeps them responsive to your foot on the pedal. I would watch a few YouTube videos. There's some pretty good ones now. Good luck.
  21. I think that missing screw is what adjust the throttle plates. As in your 2nd sentence, #13 on the diagram. I always unhook that top plastic marble to release the linkage during adjusting. Closest to #8. Here's the spring loaded screw you need. Probably easiest to get one at motorcycle shop. They're on bike carbs.
  22. A very good friend put a familiar face to that flaw. It helped me learn to move on without going down to their level.
