I was bleeding my brakes when I ran into an issue with the front right. The bleeder was loose but held fluid. When I removed it I found that the threading was damaged and the seat on the valve was chewed up. I tried a new M10 1.0 valve and it would not seal. I'm going to have to get a new caliper but I don't know if I can identify what was used on this upgraded brake. It's a 4-piston but I'm not sure what to order. I also need pads so I want to make sure I get pads that match my other caliper along with the replacement caliper.

I know wheel fit and size has been beaten to death and I have spent WAY too many hours on this and other forums reading old posts but I do have a timely questions regarding both. I'm ready to buy new wheels and think I have a good feel for wheel fit (leaning towards 15x8 zero offset) as I want to keep the stock suspension for now and also keep the fenders intact. The problem I think I'm running into here is that the availability of street tires in these relatively small tire sizes has really decreased in the last 3-5 years. Just clicking around on Tire Rack, there's a good selection of track tires in the small sizes but hardly any good high performance summer or…

Question? what are you guys doing for a spare tire? I will soon have new 17" wheels to go with my big brake kit and have realized that no spare is going to fit over the brakes??? Does anyone make just a steel wheel that would work? Thanks

I am getting close to being ready for tires. I have been looking at several options: 1. Kuhmo Ecsta PS31 215/55 R16 about $136 2. Continental Extreme contact DWS06 Plus 215/55 R16 about $151 3. Toyo R1R 225/50 R16 $181 (not available in the 215) As the title says, I am going to be running Rota RB's 16x7 with a +4 offset I am running Eibachs and am planning on an airdam up front. So no stock valence. I was thinking the 215's aught to clear the rear wheel arches. I really like the Toyo's but I am not sure they will clear and I don't want to deal with scrubbing right now. I might roll the fenders eventually but no time for it now. Questions…

I have a 11/70 car that I redid all the bushings, power coated the suspension, added Eibach lowering springs, and Koni yellow shocks. Now the rear wheels sound like absolute grinding hell when I try to move the car, and the E-brake no longer holds (I tried to adjust it). I don't know, but suspect the original style cylinders might not be working properly. Is changing to the 73 and up style a good 'upgrade' or should I try something else first? Thanks!

Gents, I got this from an email through our support system. It's about a period correct tire size for those of you sporting stock rims. I thought I would share here. No affiliation and he is not a sponsor on the site. Please check for accuracy. Mike

I have a clicking sound coming from the right rear wheel / axle / brake when I am backing up...especially when I pull out of the garage in the morning. My initial thoughts focused on the universal joints, then the rear wheel bearing, but looking at the inside of the drum, there is a slight indentation in the round plug seen in the pics. The plug is about 2mm proud of the inner face of the drum and there are shiny tracks on the edges of the hub. I have to assume I have found the source as there is no bearing noise when I rotate the hub...and no play either...same for the U-joints which are new. I am also getting a slight rumble out of the area in question. Any thoughts...?

My1972 240z has arleady been restored and painted. What comes next? Swapping the wheels which are 14" and still not the original as they were used on 280z model. However, as i still was undecided i installed a Brand new set of 185 R14 tires until i get some feedback from the fórum: I really like the american racing Wheel set: https://whiteheadperformance.com/product/american-racing-15x7-polished-slot-mag-wheel-kit-0-offset-4x114-3-vna695748-datsun-240z-260z-280z-280zx-510/ My car has a 280z 5 speed transmission and would like to know if changing the wheels from the 280z type to this aftermarket set will affect the driveability or performance of the car. Onc…

It took a while for me to notice, but the master cylinder which came mounted in the engine compartment of the car I am restoring is actually the "later style" which is "incorrect" for the restoration I am doing. It is this one which is for 240z's from 9/1971: http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/Z-1969-1978/brake/brake-master-cylinder/from-sep-71 The one which was original on my car (6/1971 production) is this one: http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun/Z-1969-1978/brake/brake-master-cylinder/to-aug-71 I was able to source one off of eBay that is in surprisingly good shape and I happen to have an old rebuild kit for it which I bought back in the early 1990's: …

Hello, I am trying to duplicate this look with the same ROTA RB wheels, but I'm unsure of the finish. I'm attaching a couple of pics because the lighting and angle seem to make a big difference. I will be purchasing these online and can't view them in person. At first, I thought they were gunmetal, but someone else told me they were hyper-black. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Hey all, There's some Watanabe 15x6.5 wheels on my local Facebook marketplace. The current owner doesn't know the offset and the wheels have been repainted so the original ID stickers are long gone. Do any of the casting or stamped marks on the hub side indicate offset? If all else fails I'll just go measure them but I'm hoping maybe one of you experts can ID them from the pic.
