Hey everyone. I have ben lurking for a few weeks and checking out this fantastic site. My name is Dan and am from Lancaster PA by way of Brooklyn NY. Big friggin' difference there I'll tell ya what. Anyway, when I was about 9, there was this girl that lived on my street in Bklyn, and she was like 25 and I thought she was Venus incarnate. I had a major crush on her. Anyway, she drove this powder blue or sky blue 240 or 260, I don't know which, I was 9 like I said. So, all my impressionable life I was left with the opinion that the Z was the hottest car this side of the universe. I used to think I liked the Z for her, now I realize I only liked her for her Z! At any rate, I…

I'm just waiting for the right one! Hello people, My name is Damon, as you can see down there :cross-eye , Thought it might be rude of me to view these forums without at least saying hello. I spend most of my time at the Datsun owners club forums. So if anybody knows of a series 1 240Z going real cheap and in mint condition let me know :stupid: I know at some stage I'll end up asking a question, that has been answered many, many times before. If this happens feel free to mock, I would :lick:

I'm new here and this is my first post. This club has been very helpful in my Z project. I've been able to find most of the information I need by using the search feature but I've not been able to find two things. 1. I need a mast for my 73 Z OEM antenna. The search shows that they should be available but I'm unable to find them. Can anybody help? 2. Which side of the rear should the tow hook go on. I'm in a reassembly mode and forgot where it was. Thanks, Larry

Hello, I’m new here and have been looking at a lot of different Z communities to figure out where I belong. I joined here mainly because of the way I’ve seen questions answered by experienced members to the non-experienced (like myself). Helpful and not condescending like I saw on another forum. A little background on me: My son has always loved classics and I took him to a classic car show earlier this year. He was hooked and wanted to do a project. So the username “Dadson”. Thought that was a fun descriptive play on Datsun. We looked at a lot of American muscle but I kept gravitating back to the early z cars. Fast forward 9 months and here we are. We bought a 72…

well I finally started working on the 240. I have been lurking around this site for quite some time researching what to do with my little Z car. A little history on the car: It is a 1972 240z... For the most part it is unmolested, although not in the best of condition currently. My mother bought it in 1972 from the original owner (he was in the service and was being shipped over to Germany) practically new. It was tangerine and she loved the car. Funny thing, the original owners manual was in the glove when i got it open today along with the original note from the bank she got a loan from and like 21 years of registration slips. somewhere along the line my father had th…

Just today I bought my first Z... it's a stock 71 240z. It's been sitting, untouched, in a heated garage since 1985! To tell you the truth I have not actually put eyes on it yet. I'm relying on pictures and a look-over by a good friend of mine. It is 99% rust free, the seats are trash but the rest of the interior is reportedly in good shape. It is reportedly all original, unrestored. 90k on the clock. It has not been run since '85. No keys either. And it's missing the coil and coil wire (maybe more, I'll know on Saturday when I get it delivered). I'll have 10 million newbie questions I'm sure... Any comments would be welcome. Mark

I own a 240z with 14,000 original miles. I purchased this vehicle from a gentleman in Florida that purchased it from the dealer in 1971 new. He was 38 years ol. He is now 69 years old. The first few years he put the mileage on the car. Then he put it in the garage with a car cover on it until I purchased it last month. The vehicle is new and completely original. I will show pictures soon. It may be one of the most original perfect 1971 240Z cars on the planet. Silver with black interior and an 8track radio a dealer option in 1971 and it works.

Hey everyone - I am super stoked to be here. About 3 weeks ago I got a 1970 240Z after 17 years without a Z. See . . . my first car ever was a 1972 240Z. I got it when I was 16, drove it for 3 months, and totalled it. I was in the hospital for a week and had my spleen removed - nearly died. God what a crappy driver I was (and 3 beers at 16 didn't help)........ I've always wanted another one. After my recovery I had a chance to buy a perfect orange 1972 240Z with something like 60,000 original miles for real cheap and passed on it. I have dreamed of getting one all this time. I even have the original shift knob from the Z I crashed waiting to find a new home for it. …

Just bought a 2/70 Z on EBay... the only catch is its for pickup only. I'm in Phoenix - the car is in St Louis. Looks like a road trip! Good thing I have a tow dolly. Bummer is the guy will not be there this weekend, so I have to go next (Superbowl weekend!). I don't want to put it off another week. Its a fixer upper but original. mapquest says its about 1500 miles... that will be a hardcore drive. lotsa caffeine i'm thinkin...

I got my 2nd 240Z (the 1st was in the '70's) last year. It is one of those factory authorized restoration cars (Z-Car). It had a stereo radio in it that I have pulled out and am trying to install an original Hitachi am/fm radio. I have gotten past the huge problem of removing the Heater Controls and Faceplate and finding the proper wires/connections to power the old style radio (the stereo people did a number on the wires). I also believe I have to replace the "automatic" antenna with an old style manual one. Now my latest problem is that the radio has brackets on both sides but behind the '71 dash there are no corresponding side supports/brackets/hangers to attach them …

It pass almost 2 years since the car went to the body shop. After spend a lot of €€€ in parts and body work, it went to the road the last week. There is always something to do, but I want to drive it before they (body shop and mechanic) go on holidays, so here it is. I want to say that in this site i found nice people that help me on something that i didn`t understand, (now i speak and read english much better) and i want to say thanks to a special person, that he did something that is unique. He bought parts from me, from MSA, Courtesy Nissan parts, Black Dragon, and someother places, he also let me order parts to his adress and them he packed it all and sometim…
