Hi everyone, This is my first post here. I'm proud to say that I just finished up a ~2800km round-trip to tow a new to me 1970 240Z to my house. It needed a boost to turn over, but started easily and drove onto the trailer without issues. I gave it a good cleaning today and it's in better condition than I had expected. I don't have any pictures up yet, but I'll post some soon. Here's a quick summary of what it is. Body: The body and paint appear to be in pretty good shape, there are a couple of small bubbles/cracks forming where the B-pillar meets the roof line. Also some body damage to the front end fibre-glass pieces. Other than that it looks pretty solid. The fender we…

Hello friends, enthusiasts, acquaintances, peers, and accidental thread clickers! It has been quite the while since anyone has heard from me and what's going on so I decided to post something up to get started and involved deeper here! I apologize for disappearing, I seem to be doing that too frequently as of late. So, a nice little recap from my couple weeks of absence. Aside from a crazy rush at work I've been squeezing in any time necessary (mostly in the AM when my family can't tell me I'm making a poor financial decision [emoji28]) to plan this Datsun's arrival into my garage. Or my parents' rather... I found a nice silver 240Z in Huntington Beach, Califo…

Well, it's been about 2 years since I bought it and got it to the condition it's in now... It now has an L28 N42 head with a 5 speed from a '77, SU carbs to be installed soon (from ZTherapy), and MSA Twice Pipes. EGR and air pump have been removed. I didn't have the rubber fillers for the bumpers, so I collapsed the shocks to make them fit closer to the body like the early 240Zs.

Not sure where to begin on this so I’ll just start with the details. I currently have three 240Z’s occupying my three car garage. When I purchased Z number three, I booted my wife’s Mazda Tribute out of the garage so I could keep all three Z’s well protected in said garage. She was Ok with that. Now, a 1970, 1600 roadster that I have had my eye on for a while is available. I spoke to my wife and told her I would like to pick the car up this weekend and restore it, and she was totally fine with it. She said as long as I paint it red (the color of her purse) and let her drive it, that would be great. The original color is red, so that’s good with me. No fig…

Without pictures I wouldn't believe this story myself. I bought 2 280Z 5 speed transmissions from a guy in a small central GA town for a song. When I went to pick them up he told me about a 71Z sitting in the yard of an abandoned house.I asked him about looking at it he hesitated and said it was behind a fence and we couldn't see it. After I assured him all I needed to know was where it was we WOULD be able to see it he took me to the house. On the way he told me the man that owned the house use to sell old surplus army jeeps still in the crates and still had some there.I remember the ads in the back of old magazines that said they had surplus jeeps for 500 dollars since …

I am pleased to join the long list of happy Z owners as of yesterday, 11/5! I made an impulsive decision to jump on a plane at the last second to fly from Phoenix to LA yesterday to look at a Z for sale. The owner was a nice guy who didn't have the time nor assets to invest in the car to get it up to good condition, so he put it on the market on Friday. It was a good deal financially but the most impressive part is the VIN number: HLS3001399!!!! I now own the 1,399 Z ever built, so cool! I am looking forward to getting it in primo shape and will look forward to gaining the insight of so many other Z enthusiasts. Long live the Z!!!

Who will answer my car questions about my 1971 Datsun 240Z? I am the sole owner; bought her new and still have her on the road..but she needs alittle help now. Will professional mechanics or other members answer questions I may post in the coming weeks? How knowledgeable are the people who provide answers? Will I be permitted to follow-up with a person by phone or have a person phone me? How soon will I receive a response to my posted questions? Are there any fringe benefits to my membership? This is my very first post so I need an orientation--answers to the above questions are essential. Thanks--looking forward to an RSVP--ASAP …

Going to use this as my build/resto thread. I just picked the car up last Thursday and am looking forward to working on it. It's a '73 Blue 240Z that is all original as far as I can tell so far. It isn't running yet, though I hope to be able to turn it over by the end of the week. I doubt I'll have it ready to run for another few weeks but I'm working on it. Right now, I'm following the steps in the "Waking the sleeping beast?" thread to hopefully get it to turn over with no further damage (if there is any). I pulled the plugs tonight and put some ATF in the cylinders. I did notice that the spark plugs are extremely fouled and are a very dark slightly shiny black. I'm thi…
