Greetings, Not exactly sure where this should go, but here goes. While out hunting for a turn signal switch for my 1972 240Z (see my post under Parts Swaps) at the Stockton, California Pick 'n Pull I came across the following vehicles / parts which may be of interest. 1971? 240Z (for sure). Pretty thrashed out, had the E48? intake manifold I posted about under Carbs. Sheet metal not bad on left, but cut up, literally cut up on right side. Very odd. Hood in good shape, seats possible, though they can't appreciate being under a bunch of parts from misc. cars. 1981 280ZX 2+2: Close to complete. 1976 280Z 2+2: Appears to be an abandoned project car. I'm not an expert …

Ride height 1 2 3

I know this has been discussed before, and I did do a search, but I am looking for a quick answer please. I replaced the rear struts and kept the same springs, but now it looks like the ride height has increased. Is this right? Dosen't the car ride on the springs and not the struts? Why would the height chage if I am correct. Am I wrong as usual?

If this sweet looking thing sells for $38K i'd be surprised. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZalgoQ3dSIQ26ituQ3dUCIQ252BUAQ252BFICSQ26otnQ3d10Q26pmodQ3d120704418733Q252B250795451416Q252B200591531970Q26poQ3dLVIQ26psQ3d63Q26clkidQ3d8436386733811808284QQ_trksidZp5197Q2em263QQitemZ290553900609#ht_1050wt_1161

Hello Classic Zcar Club, been checking out things on here for a little over a week now and it looks like a great site! Ok so here's the deal, I've never owned a Z car before, but it's been my dream since I was a kid and now it looks like I'm going to finally make it a reality. I found a 1977 280Z, 2 seater, still has original paint and the exterior seems to be a pretty good condition. I haven't yet taken a close look at it but in a few hours I'm going to head over and check it out in detail. It has been sitting under a ramada for eight years without being driven. The tires are flat, but it looks to be in pretty good condition, we'll see though. It was in perfect running c…

I just purchased a 1976 280Z last week. I replaced the alternator and added a drivers side door handle. Alternator was easy not so for the door handle. I have three projects on my agenda for this weekend. 1) Dash lights are note working. I read something that said that the tail lights and dash lights were on the same circuit. Not sure. The tail lights are working. Also, the brake light stays on. The little voltage light is also working along with the flip light in the middle console area. I am suspecting that the Panel-Light Rheostat/Switch is not working but not sure. Any thoughts? Horn is also not working. I have checked the fuses at the fuse box. 2) Brak…

So as I am looking for insurance for my 280z I entered all my info on Hagerty, and a member of their Eastern Germany Stasi calls to talk to me. They had "questions" regarding use. I was honest and checked all the appropriate boxes. They asked about the "daily use" & "business use" boxes I checked. I said "If the weather is nice I would like to make day trips to Austin, TX to see customers/clients and whatnot, I wouldn't use the car for overnight trips etc." Hagerty:"Sorry sir we can't allow that." I said "I would use the car to make short trips to Home Depot on Saturday" Hagerty: "Sorry we cannot insure a car that will be in a parking lot for extended periods o…

My car A/C is not cooling. It has R12 fittings on the compressor. I took one of the valve covers off and pushed in the schrader valve and I did get a hissing sound. I bought some Johnsens Freeze 12 and some oil. One of the auto parts stores I sell parts to suggested putting in cheaper r134a and some leak detector to find the leak first before I a)put on a new drier etc. and put in expensive freeze 12 only to have it possibly leak out. Do you all agree with this assessment?

A week ago, I came across 6 feet of old braided Jaguar vacuum hose that happened to match the size and look of 240Z vacuum brake booster hose so I tried something today. I cut to length and then stuffed a aluminum wire through them and stuffed the two into my oven at 400 degrees. The object was to see if they well retain the shape of the wire. After about 40 minutes, I quickly doused them in cold water. And guess what! it worked! The pick shows them in the oven before I closed the door. I made the wire so that there was no part of the hose touching the frying pan or the oven walls. In my excitement, I forgot to take a pic of the hose but well tomorrow night. SO if you…

The BJ Auction in West Palm Beach, FL started on April 7th. The only Z-car on the lot was a 1984 300ZX with advertised 12,404 miles. It sold for 12,925 which includes the 10% buyers premium.
