There is an article in today's NYTimes that discusses a class of cars called "Pike Cars" which Nissan produced for a while in the 80's and 90's. It is not a Z-Car article but it is interesting non the less. I thought I would share: Nissan’s Cartoon Cars, Once So Hip

I've read a few wiper motor conversion threads, but does anyone know where you can still get a wiper motor for a 240? Obviously, not new but a used one that works. It seems I looked everywhere, and everything points me to a conversion.

Hi Guys...I am new to the club and have owned many other cool cars in the past (GTOs, red '70 Boss 302, '67 Camaro RS, '65 Mustang, Trans Am, and several others), but I have always lusted for an early Z. I found your club while googling "original 240Z for sale", and realized this was the best spot for discussions regarding early Zs. I bought one of the cars listed on your site last week and have been spending numerous hours out in the garage cleaning it up and discovering its mysteries (much like going over a new girlfriend, except they usually don't like the discovery process to occur in a garage . It has 90k original miles, is rust free with the exception of minor bubbl…

Hello everybody I have an opportunity. The company that I worked at last summer and I am going to be working at permanently in a couple months is being into manufacturing overseas(cause that is where it all happens now). They tend to manufacture smaller parts but if they see profit in it. They can do die casting of aluminum and zinc, machining of anything, injection molding of plastics, and many other processes (likewise, if they don't currently do it and see profit, they may be interested). This gives us an opportunity. We can have a large number of parts manufactured for a relatively cheap price. Candidate parts need to be for common vehicles, be used on multiple m…

So my Z is almost home, being shipped to me from up north. She is a 1978 280 2+2. Running very well , body work is the first priority . From the rockers up she is pretty pristine, only has 68K on the clock. I introduced her here http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41594 I already know I need some odds and ends like a shift knob, where are the best places to search for parts, or the best online sources. I will post in classifed section here as well . I will be more specific when she arrives but just trying to do a little homework before then

A Z for sale on EBay looks pretty good. The reason for selling is given as: Why am I selling it:? I wanted a track Z car and once I got close to getting it done, I realized it was too nice to do that;

My 260 was manufactured in May 74 and someone put an ac system in around Sept 74. I am refreshing this car and still have the York F-209R compressor with R-12. The only place that I have seen parts for it is on ebay. It works today but I don't know about tomorrow!! Has anyone changed out their old York, and what did you go to??

I picked up a project car; Austin Healey with a Z motor/trans in it. I love the drive train and it is a perfect motor for this car. It will be back on the road shortly. I have never owned a Z, but have had some 510's and a roadster in my youth. Looking through the local Sacramento craigslist this morning, I was really surprised at how little these Z cars are selling for. I'm sure most of these cars are in need of a lot of work, but still. I may need to do an early Z after this Healey project. The average: $2,760 The average without the one $17.5k car: $2,090 note: I changed titles of the craigslist ads to make a consistent format and deleted those cars which were obv…

Ok, I was really bored and decided to make a list of all the cars I have ever owned. Yes, some I'm not too proud of and others I wish I had never sold. This was actually harder than I thought, it's amazing how easy it is to forget about some after so many years. So, put your list together and lets what you have or used to have. Here's mine: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2007 Audi Q7 19??Acura Legend 19??Acura MDX 1998 BMW 740il 2001 BMW 330i 1993 Chevy Lumina 1998 Chevy Tahoe 2008 Chevy Suburban 1970 Datsun 240Z 1970 Datsun 240Z 1971 Datsun 240Z 1972 Datsun 240Z 1973 Datsun 240Z 1975 Datsun 280Z 1981 Dat…

Is it just me - but does this strike anyone as being more than a little out of whack???? One Million Dollars - REALLY???? {see .jpg below} If Carlos gets $9,500,000.00 per year, we can guess that his top say 6 executives receive per year. http://www.reuters.com/article/2010/06/23/us-nissan-ghosn-compensation-idUSTRE65M0AS20100623 So NISSAN is contributing $500,000.00 to the Red Cross for the Japanese Relief Effort - and asking employees, owners and fan's to kick in a matching $500,000.00 - - So NISSAN can meet its pledge of ONE Million Dollars. I should think that Carlos and his gang alone would contribute at least $5,000,000.00, and NISSAN USA Corporate could kick i…
