  2. this guy has a pic of the original 5 speed knob, Bart.. Zbred: Goodbye 240Z (s30zed.blogspot.com) Here they are.. I made one myself on a lathe but miss the top plastic piece with the doulble H and numbers.. the 10 is for ten years of (resto)work Hahaha.... The plastic chrome part under it i installed that later. it has the thread M8x1,25 (i believe) in it..
  3. Worked on engines? i'm sorry but you polished engines or so? Well you ask a LOT of questions that are simple to answer for someone that worked for 40 years on engines? What you have there is a bolt without it's head... some guy... must have taken it right off!
  4. I remember that i could take them simply out on a 280zx coupler.. i have one ready for my 280zx. I don't know if other "pucks" are made the same way..

  7. You can take the bushings out and plate them, but more important i wanted to say put the rubber in some washing powder and some hot water, leave it there for some days.. maybe take it out and scrub it a bit and put it in new mix of ordinary washingpowder and hot water.. the rubber rejuvenates very well most times! I found this out in the time i restored a pinball machine, those rubbers were white (where the ball bounced against.) and after a lifetime they had thausands of little holes in them when stretched! After a week in washing detergent they were as good as new!! I must say the softer the rubber the better it works..
  8. If you look carefully at the top big pic. (first one in this topic) . and see that the front of the car is a little higher on the pic (Put the rims on the screen edge) and you scroll the pic down you can see that the above is NOT true ?? Huh.. or am i wrong? 😮
  9. And it's called a freeze plug but it's really not very helpful.. water can easely break your engine when frozen, those plugs are not gonna help much.. On Wiki, The slang term "freeze plug" is derived from the many years ago in situations where the water in an engine block could freeze (due to plain water being used in winter rather than anti-freeze coolant). The expansion of the water as it froze would cause the core plug to pop out of the engine, leading to the term "freeze plug".[4] I hear that they do pop after freezing but the block is also cracked by then.. so don't use water ever..
  10. Oh.. man... now he asks... (provided that they are the same as Euro 260z rear lights i got several) (For the other readers.. we just handeled a giant parcel (165x42x75Cm...) and it was a pain in the bu** too! UPS is a sh** company to work with.. First they say it costs almost 700 euro then they say it's 602 and then they say the parcel was 3 Cm bigger and ask for another 180 + euro.. i say F**k them... And i hear the parcel was damaged as well so.. never UPS again. As the euro version has orange indicators .. i have a set of those almost new but over 40 years old they are in storage i think over 20 years.. and i DO have a US version but only the right one i believe.. I looked for pics now a few minutes..can't find them i think it's a right hand side one (US version) i got in pretty good condition.. must look if your interested.. don't know if i want to go through the whole proces again... 🙄 Looked again and found one from the euro..set..
  11. For as far i know these where also on some US cars Bart, and i believe i have one left on my attic. But look if you can get one elsewere.. i got no problem with that! (I'm not sure if it has bolt on flanges or the other shaft..)
  12. Looked at it and it's a casting mark.. i think.. and it's on a side of the pump go's on to the bolt so not really a problem if it was a crack..
  13. AH... yeah autocorrect.. just put it in the bin.. 🙂 or in the round archives as we say.. 😂
  14. Lightning holes? must have been a big thunder also?
  15. Still i don't know what he's saying... oh whatever.. but then... Always weld them IN whatever you want to repair.. that way is a bit more work but it's rewarding to "not to see" the repair you did.
  16. Hey CO.. what about this one.. Tell us how we can EnLIGHTEN you.. Btw.. zdude.. I meant the contacts in the switch itself they can get hot from just a little to much ampèrage.. ask me how i know..
  17. They have .. i assume.. the same old contacts that used to work with the old 45-50 watt lamps and these days the lamps are 55-60 watt and thats just enough to ruin these contacts.. i would start with checking these switches and check contacts when there is no conductivity. (also check fuses of course.)
  18. You mean a liquid one? from what world do they come!! 😂
  19. Ah.. i bet you have taken out that old original radiator and put in a brand new aluminium one hey??
  20. I've got a few sets left.. originals.. they need to get rechromed but then they are perfect. (just old chrome and only a little rust on the inside.) With or without the bumperettes..
  21. Dexron was just a name.. Originally the DEXRON name was associated exclusively with automatic transmission fluids, later GM released DEXRON gear oils and other lubricants under the DEXRON brand. GM Automatic Transmission Fluids (ATF) The original Dexron (B) transmission fluid was introduced on April 1, 1967. Also in the 80's dexron was atf and oil It's professional blindness from NISSAN to say: OR type dexron.. (still meaning the 80w oil.. for the transmission 5 speed and dexron (atf) for the auto transmission.. Also: the servicemanuals of Nissan are more than once wrong.. they make mistakes.. but i always say that just shows your human ..
  22. Yeah that means it opens at 1,1 Bar. (15,95 Lbs per square inch) i would'nt go much higher.. (i know that my 300zxtt works at 1,2 Bar (17,4 Lbs/sq Inch.)
  23. You use a Aluminium radiator? Let me just say this: There is no better radiator than a copper one!!! Personally i HATE those stupid aluminum (or aluminium) radiator makers.. they say their 3 row is a very good radiator... NO a 3 row COPPER radiator is MUCH better.. I don't no i have not tested it but i Bet that even a 2 row copper radiator cools better than a 3 row alu.. Yes a copper one is much more expensive, thats why the alu is popular.. not that it's better... All Z's & ZX's have copper radiators for a reason.. 👍
  24. @Zed Head i meant it more like a brand name.. Here a example of DEXRON 75W90 oil.. of the brand ac delco. it has nothing to do with the ATF.. yes ATF can be dexron but oil can also be dexron.. Also when you look for the word DEXRON on wiki it says: Originally the DEXRON name was associated exclusively with automatic transmission fluids, later GM released DEXRON gear oils and other lubricants under the DEXRON brand.
