  1. A little late...
  2. It won't let you say uhsembly.
  3. Take a carpenter's square, the big L shaped one, and lay the big edge on the bottom. If it's bad you'll see the gap.
  4. It's 2.5 from the top. Turn them clockwise until they snug then go counterclockwise down two and a half.
  5. I have a Felpro on my 280, no issues since 2012. You can buy just the HG from local chain stores. Nonstocking but next day usually. I bought mine from Advance.
  6. Lowes has a pool pump gauge that will work but you'll have to add the brass barbs on to it to put it in a fuel line. Not so sure they will be willing to get pool supplies in January though.
  7. Over ride bar would be for blew eyed scope? One blew east the other blew west.
  8. Make sure the vane isn't stuck behind the black box on the afm. Try tapping it first if it hasn't been off before. Are the distributor cap contacts worn down? New cap and button would be money well spent. Have you tried turning the distributor to advance timing when it's running? Guesses...
  9. @sparegolfer I used this as a guide for my first poly change over on a 280, http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/suspension.htm Did again to my 240, same thing. My only problem was the lock nut on the T/C rods. They're one use. Mine fell off luckily in my driveway so I put new nylon lock nuts on both sides. Also the OE rubber and poly mix works great on those rods like Jeff says. I bought the rubber from Napa way back when but zcardepot.com has all the stuff cheaper, https://www.google.com/search?rls=ig&source=hp&ei=UrBIXKfGOMfVjwTo7byACA&q=napa+auto+280z+compression+rod+bushing&btnK=Google+Search&oq=napa+auto+280z+compression+rod+bushing&gs_l=psy-ab.3..33i299l3.1182.22774..23940...0.0..0.115.3110.33j5......0....1..gws-wiz.....0..0j0i131j0i22i30j33i160.9j-DxNl4ht0
  10. Captain O and I would need the training guy to get the bar off of our chest.
  11. That's real close to my early '77, built in 9/'76. The sloped up rear deck is what I'm going by. The later ones had a built up flat deck. Good luck, hopefully you'll sell it.
  12. Don't forget the bottom. A couple of valves will be sticking out. Use styrofoam or doubled up cardboard on the bottom.
  13. google searched the linkage kit number from Redline, 99006.729 https://www.google.com/search?q=99006.729+linkage+kit&rlz=1C1BOFA_enUS494US494&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiV2Y_mz_zfAhVM1VkKHSRSCnEQ_AUICSgA&biw=1280&bih=606&dpr=1.25 @240260280 bought these of mine but I can't remember the name on the linkage arms.
  14. Pictures will help you here or a link to the sale ad.

  17. Youse too?
  18. With the choke pulled back and the nozzles dropped all the way my 72 doesn't need any pedal to start. I had a 240 that wouldn't crank right up when I first bought it. Adjusted the valves to spec and it would fire up instantly.
  19. You have a well thought out plan! Enjoy reading your post. I've always read CTS, coolant temp sensor, FWIW.
  20. Similar '72 from Auburn, GA on there too. $10,000 last I checked.
  21. Yes, welcome! You have a nice collection, your brother knows too.
  22. I thought the rhd had different stampings? Give them more time...? To the theme of Rawhide... "Trollin' trollin' trollin'"
  23. I was averaging 1,500 per state, with a grain of salt.
  24. There's 5 I can put my hand on in this one horse town. Three running and 2 that aren't. I'd guess half the total pruduction?
