How's this supposed to work anyway?
On my '72 that cable pulls the valve open for heat. Pushed all the way to the firewall is closed, no heat. And if I remember right that cable that disappears pulls open a metal flap that is between the fan and the condenser.

1970 Series1 240z "barnfind"
Yes those on the rear bumper mounts were for shipping from Japan. The dealers were supposed to remove them but most didn't from all I've read. They're easy to take off if you decide to, a lot of the original cars I've seen still have them in place. I've taken mine off just to make sure know one ever hooks something to one, I think it would pull the whole bumper off. I strapped the rear down around the A spindles with those nylon ratchet straps. Mostly just to keep it from bouncing. Good luck and have fun.

Yep! I'm the one wearing the UPS uniform. I delivered 2 packages to the track. Captain Obvious was our photographer, he got a hug.

ZCON 2018 Roll Call
I drove over Friday to spend the day with our gang at Road Atlanta and have my picture taken with Guy. Great group of people, some new faces and some I'd already had the pleasure of meeting in Memphis. Thank you all for a fantastic day. Cliff

Transmission Noise
Yes, sad to say but it was grannyknot. Simply amazing. I remember teflon tape on the threads but that didn't work.

Great read, unfortunately none of the pics showed up on my end. Glad you're sharing with us. Not sure if you've seen the other 300 build thread from @Diseazd son. Sorry I can't remember his username. 8^(

How to change interior overhead light bulb
I bought one off ebay but there is another supplier we've talked about on here, ledbrights.com or something like that. I found it. How to change interior overhead light bulb
My joke is how many times does a Z owner change the same bulb? Twice. I bought one of those cheapo LEDs first and like me it's not very bright so I get the good one with the panels, no cover. No good, Good,

How to change interior overhead light bulb
It's a little nerve racking but it's the only way I found too. There's four tabs two each side. I think I used small screwdrivers and got one side down at time.

OE R180 with the wide B 5 speed. Mine does well in fourth gear. That's where it stays unless I'm on an interstate.

Restoration of my 72 240Z
I'm jumping in blind but the MSA ceramic header and 2.5" premium exhaust is fantastic for the price. I have it on both mine but needed a resonator n my 280. Local guy did it for $50 if I remember right. Very sweet sound. Plus the ceramic header cuts the heat way down around the fuel side. That big ole cast iron oe manifold holds heat causing hot restarts problems in my expirences.

Misfiring while cruising
Thank you Charles! I'll have to read up on that. Mine runs around 75mph @2,200rpm. 80 @ 2,500. I changed out the speedo cog and have 15" tires. Seems steady compared to traffic on the interstate but that app would let me know for sure.

Misfiring while cruising
Back in the late '90s when I had my boat a friend paid $3,000 for a GPS and we all used it to get the correct speed. The factory set up was only good to about 70 or 80 mph. I put that in a pocket on the back of my seat. Made a few passes and it showed 101. I lost interest soon after that and sold the boat. Why do I spend all my time and money getting something to the top then lose interest? As bad as i hate to say it I'm scared to drive the 240. Still enjoy talking with my friends on here but the car sits all alone. How much does Mrs Dennis charge per hour?

'78 Black Pearl Restoration
Just an fyi and why I ask, my 9/'76 was one of the first change overs to the 5 speed. It has a "5 Speed" emblem on the passenger's side of the rear deck lid. You have a great car. I just always look for oddities in these old cars. I guess im a pessimist? Great car, carry on with the great updates and details. This is my social world, sad to say, I love reading the stories. You're right, I can't find it now. That $96 one from rockauto.com is the cheapest I can find. Good luck Sir.
