  1. I would suggest a 280Z. Many more and their value versus the bucks you'll spend hasn't risen like the 240s. Once you get the bumpers off they're pretty much the same body. If you plan a motor swap it's a mainly insignificant detail in my opinion. 240s have lower gearing to, you'll save some $$ with a 280 5 speed plus the r200 differential.
  2. rockauto.com has a lot of information and part numbers for '72 240Z battery cables. There is a difference from 6/72 to 7/72 also manual or automatic. Not sure what it is. Happy researching.

  4. That looks great 240dkw, thank you. My problem is the one mounted onto the car. If I'm successful getting the good mirror out without breaking it I'll most likely have to remove the door card to get the good housing off so I can work with it without damaging my car. 99 problems...
  5. Mine came with both rubber seals and a hose clamp. Here's the thread if you want to read a little. On the FPR. I put a fuel rail I built that needed a single inlet like the '78s have. I'm pretty sure it came from rockauto for $70 something or another.
  6. The glass is beveled around the edge then the metal is rolled over that.
  7. I'm betting along those odds myself. Zup will come down here and slap me upside the head if I break it. Coming in from the back was an idea but they have a rubber back pad glued to the mirror. I've already called my local Nissan parts guy and they have plenty for some reason. But no windshield wipers.
  8. Trico 44-180 refills fit both my cars very good. $8 at O'reilly's. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/trico-5077/wiper-blade-motor-16494/wiper-blades-25089/wiper-refill-12826/83ee6f490634/trico-18-inch-natural-rubber-wiper-refill/44180/4748890/1977/nissan/280z
  9. I have a good housing on my 240 but the mirror is broken. I've taken all the pieces out and now have a round stick-on from a chain store stuck in there. Fortunately a "gift horse" smiled and showed his teeth. The fronts looked like new but the rears showed their age. Zup sent me a good mirror with a dented housing behind it. I need to transfer the glass mirror he sent to my car. I thought I could get it out fairly easy with these but it did not work so good and now I nervous about breaking the mirror and the 7 years of bad luck that go along with that. Putting it back in will (should) be easier with a good round piece of hardwood, a section of an old mop handle from the restaurant is what I was thinking.
  10. Yep and it's not going too well. I can't get the rolled over chrome off the good glass. I've decided to take it to an auto glass shop. Scared I'll break it.
  11. Those green ones on ebay,fj3 I think, are on a few cars on here and well liked. I bought Standard fj707t I think from rockauto.com and they do very well too.

  13. Here's some good reading on the question. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1BOFA_enUS494US494&ei=n3NUXLboM6ip_Qax0qWoBQ&q=stock+SU+air+filter+box+is+working+compared+to+2+round+K%26N+filters+classiczcars.com&oq=stock+SU+air+filter+box+is+working+compared+to+2+round+K%26N+filters+classiczcars.com&gs_l=psy-ab.3...1209.6599..7093...0.0..0.101.1250.16j1......0....1..gws-wiz.......0i71.2D2caPPCrBo
  14. I was lucky enough to get an original mirror for mine that's been mia since I bought the car. Anybody have any experience rolling that chrome/stainless? lip that goes over the beveled edge of the mirror to keep it in place? Thanks for any replies.
  15. It got down to 45 degrees in my garage last night! 18 degrees outside of the garage. I spent my money on the "pink stuff".
  16. Do these Zs jump around for anybody else or are my eyes bad?
  17. @madkaw He should get an email notification from this.
  18. I remember a friend's Mom had them on her ZX. I think they were for street parking so know one would knock your door off.
  19. Keeps out the riffraff.
  20. Yes! $20K would be my starting number if it runs out okay. Good looking car.
  21. Tabco still makes them too. Fitment is iffy from what I've read, no personal experience with zcardepot or tabco panels. Zcardepot is 100% to buy from, that I do know.
  22. You need to come out into the light! You have some neat stuff going on it sounds like. Cliff
  23. I had sticky nozzles that wouldn't come up plus bad out adjustment on the valves. The PO had used 1/4" fuel line (if I remember right) for the hose from the float chamber to the nozzles. That does not work very well. Bought the thin wall hose from ztherapy, adjusted the valves and boom, new car.
  24. You got a deal there Guy! If it doesn't fit send it on down to Alabama.
