Any thoughts on coil temp? We put 50w in the carbs. It did not make it rich enough. Very little change. We may try a really heavy oil to verify that that is all the enrichment heavier oil is going to get us. We also have a problem with "running on" when shutting down. May actually be running in reverse. What causes that?
  2. Either that, or I've got delicate soft fingers while you've got rugged manly-man lumberjack hands. πŸ˜€ I think that's it exactly! ;)
  3. @HS30-H Alan, Do you know this car?
  4. If it was in Atlanta or Nashville I'm sure I've seen it. Although I dont remember explicitly... I hope your well. From the looks of it, you are :)
  5. That will be interesting to watch

We test drove the car today. First time in seven years. Didn't break. Didn't overheat. Needs more tuning but is almost functional
  7. The 10w-30 got my acceleration to richen up. It probably needs a little more fine tuning but it's serviceable for now

So we replaced the needles and nozzles. That helped some, we can get it to idle around 11.2:1 on the AFR We are really lean on acceleration. So we went 10w-30 in the dashpots, better, 10w-40 better still but still on the lean side of 14.7 on acceraltion. Codys is going to get some 10w-50 and we'll try that and see if we can get on the rich side for acceleration Also, are coils supposed to get this hot? This is after about 30 minutes consisting of three testing runs

I will try to make some pictures
  10. I bought new lids with the hinges and one is already broken. I might be able to get you some dimensions
  11. I helped a friend with his 280. fram filter was clean but fuel pressure was poor. I rigged up a 5 gallon jug in the hatch with feed and return lines. Ran great with that setup. There is a very fine mesh filter inside the swirlpot in a 280z tank. They can get stopped up, corrode or pull sediment up when running. None of this showed up in drained fuel. He split his tank and redid it. I recommend you try setting up a temporary tank for testing purposes. But no smoking!
  12. Yes, that insert looks like it been plenty hot
  13. I'm not convinced it's the pump yet. Does it do it with the gas cap off? Are you sure the tank is clean, no rust, no debris? Can you rig up a temporary tank and see if the issue goes away? I have run into this in the past
  14. One concern is the stainless lines. They are notorious for being hard to seal. Maybe the air is leaking in at a joint?
  15. That's pretty clean. Looks like a good base
  16. $42 each. Not an awful price
  17. I miss the Jim's. I have tried reaching out multiple ways but no luck. I was going to go to Branson but I am not quite ready and other things haven't aligned
  18. They are available... Maybe some vinegar and then neutralize with baking soda and water??
  19. Those heater hose fittings are prone to rust especially if straight water is used. They are available new
  20. I watched about half of the first video. That's a hard pass! I would rather do rust repair...
  21. Probably pretty rare, and it shows...
  22. If you find two jack hold downs, let me know, because I can't find one either
  23. $126,060 I think that's a pretty good number in today's market
  24. Would love to see updates. How can we help?
