  1. The stock alternator will work fine unless there is some good reason to need more current. The internally regulated alternator is a little easier to source, especially if traveling
  2. It is my understanding, none of the cars left the factory with the rubber bumper strips on the sides. That was generally added later or by the dealer before the sale
  3. MIG'ing that? You did a great job! A good machine really helps. I don't have the correct technic to make welds like that yet. I'm getting there, but slowly
  4. The picture of the mount with your hand in it, did you weld that up? The welding on that looks really sharp!
  5. Can you set the humidity level on your dehumidifier? I have mine set at 50% and once it dries it out it doesn't run too much. If you can't set it; then it running all the time might be too much for it or the power bill
  6. 60% humidity seems a little high. I have problems (metal rusting and mold growth) in the shop when I set it above 50%
  7. You could always replace the tank. They are cheap and it does serve a purpose
  8. Doesn't look bad considering experience and lack of gas half way around. A little grinding and it will be fine. It doesn't look warped which is the bigger challenge
  9. It's too early to get discouraged. One problem at a time. When you get it sorted you will be glad you stuck with it
  10. Didn't know it was in our back yard and so close. I don't know if I can make it or not. What are fees just to come in and look around the car show? I didn't see them on the site...
  11. Why do you want to remove the evap tank?
  12. so the water pumps off the LD28 are supposedly more desirable for high demand applications?
  13. Just curious have you checked any of the Nissan sources (Courtesy or your local dealership). They might be available
  14. If you just had a propane tank hooked to those like the old batmobile, now that would be cool.
  15. $700 is a good price for V07. The BW is a little high though...
  16. Yup that's it! No product link that I know of but if you print some of the pictures and take it to a local welder. They aught to be able to make it easy enough.
  17. What year is your car? I have a spare tire well from a 240z. It has a few pinholes but very useable if it will fit your application...
  18. I like both of those!!
  19. I remember seeing a thread a year or so back about somebody who had a hitch on their Z, who was it?
  20. Is he renting the trailer or you?
  21. In the lower picture I believe the door sits out from the chassis a little. The door is what needs adjustment. Start with the weatherstrips the way Zkars suggest. If you won't take good advise the help dries up...
  22. @professorpuffypants Trace it...where does it go?
  23. So you are going to have to pay more to get the door lines fixed and resprayed, after you already had to deal with overspray all over the dash versus just using a better shop in the first place!
  24. I thought the same thing. The location didn't seem overly odd for an alarm because it would be less obvious on the passenger side
  25. I rebuild and sell salvage cars. All of the cars I have done have salvage titles and all for very different reasons. Three of our daily drivers are salvage titled. Some buyers won't consider a salvage title and some will if you can show what was damaged and that is was properly repaired. If I had a project Z with a salvage title I wouldn't think twice about repairing it and making it a driver. Salvage title cars tend to bring about 80% of clean retail numbers. Although a salvage title car will probably never appreciate the way a clean title car will, but on the other side you can have less fear of damaging it because it is branded already. Your car may be salvage for a reason other than collision, flood for instance will draw a salvage title and sometimes even theft recovery will. The car I am currently restoring had enough damage to be a salvage title but the title is clear. I suspect a lot of old Z's have enough damage to be titled "salvage" because for so long they were relatively cheap. I have Grannyknot's view on old Z's save everyone you can, rust will take care of the rest...
