I have a one owner 56 bug in my shop. Next in line for restoration, if I live that long
  2. Good luck with vise grips. Oxygen sensors can become very stubborn from heat and sometimes rust. They make special wrenches for them but you can probably come up with something better. I would try open/ boxed end wrenches or even a large adjustable wrench. Then would go to channel locks before I went to vise grips, leverage is your friend...

  4. I believe they are all double flair. I think that is the way I made mine, but hopefully someone can confirm that
  5. 240+ HP and 160 FtLbs of torque aught to push a Z chassis around pretty well. I would think it would have a different feel more HP, less torque...

  8. @SteveJ The valve cover looks good. Are you ready for me to ship you one yet?
  9. I have mixed emotions about this. I am a big "personal responsibility" guy but the management had to know that poor desperate people would make questionable decisions. I think as a business owner I would feel really bad if someone ruined their body for $60....
  10. The last picture showing the radiator hanging down is behind the air dam, with the stock valence a lot more is exposed...

I think Redbird has a similar problem...
  12. Be careful of the height on a replacement radiator. If it sticks up too high it will contact the hood. If it hangs down too low, it can take a rock if you don't run an airdam...
  13. I don't know off the top of my head. An aluminum 240 radiator might fit. Best idea is to get some dimensions from a vendor and see if you think it will fit
  14. The 280z radiator is bigger if I remember correctly. You will need to make your new rails match the shape of the old rails

The tubes on the exhaust manifold are for the smog pump. They can be deleted as long as you don't have to pass "smog". Sometimes they can be threaded out and a brass plug threaded in but sometimes they won't come out. I have actually filled some like that with JB Weld and that worked fine. The rusty exhaust manifold would clean up with bead blasting. I like the mechanical fuel pump, keep it if you can. There is a thread on here somewhere that tells you how to rebuild a mechanical fuel pump.
  22. How are you knocking the welds down? Flapper disc? How did you remove soot? Buffing wheel?
