  1. Found it! Resurrected Classics. Thanks Steve.
  2. Thanks, thought I would try here first.
  3. Bump to this. I'm getting desperate. Anyone with an old body shell have one of these?
  4. Old thread but the same thing. I'm looking for one also.
  5. Cool template file. Thanks for doing that.
  6. I'm in town if anyone wants me to look at it. I'ld rather not.
  7. What are those? Lifesavers? You nut! Thanks for the pictures. I'm going to write to a guy and see if I can have them made.
  8. I tried McMaster-Carr for countersunk finishing washers. Found white ones, but not clear. Hmmm...
  9. Yes, early S30 brake backing plate. Notice that the rotor is vented also. Let me know if you want to sell anything.
  10. Oh! I missed that.

The brackets that hold the radio in place?
  12. So I bought the lug wrench Terrapin Z posted. It arrived; very nice. Then Terrapin sent me a link to these NISSAN MOTOR pliers with that magic 27 die number. How cool. So I started looking for more NISSAN tools and I rediscovered the background on my tool roll. There is still one of these available on Ebay for a hefty sum but check out this link; https://www.superscoutspecialists.com/633633t-diesel-nos-tool-kit Evidently, NISSAN sold diesel engines to International Harvester for their SuperScout diesel models and the tool roll came with the engines to be delivered with the vehicles. The seller on Ebay wants 5 times the price on the IH website.
  13. I must have missed this thread. I had no idea. I should call him.
  14. I wasn't too surprised with the price. Especially listed on a place like BaT. As much as I would love to have that bling on my engine, they weren't the right carbs for me. I've seen better deals but this one DID include two nice manifolds.
  15. The triple Mikuni carburetors on BaT last week just sold for $6,666. Good bidding war at the end.
  16. The early, early cars didn't have insulation mat melted over the holes in the metal. I can't think of anything other than weight saving for that design.
  17. Here's a good thread on fuel pumps.
  18. How about various jack handles? Here are two different ones I have.
  19. Pictures of the wrench over the tool bag.
  20. Two good threads. I, personally, don't buy into the paint coating claim. But the finish is smooth and not very bright. I did this valve cover for 26th-Z. I polished the living daylights out of the surface before I sprayed it wrinkle. I wanted all the casting marks removed and that took a lot of work. It turned out pretty good.
  21. The valve covers are cast aluminum and the original finish is not polished but a dull, natural aluminum. With age, the aluminum corrodes and that is most probably the finish you are dealing with. When I rebuild engines, I take the blocks and machine parts to a machine shop that cleans the parts, engine block and such, in their cleaner tanks. That is how I get my aluminum back to the natural finish. Soda / hydro blasting will provide a similar finish. Media blasting will pit the surface. If you polish the surface, the aluminum will loose its dull, natural finish and become chrome bright, silver shiny. The more you polish, the more shiny mirror finish you will get.
  22. Sanki is a global diversified corporation that represents many companies focusing on machine manufacturing and tools. They make the forge that forged my wrenches. https://www.sanki1948.co.jp/en/
  23. Ha! Thanks! I don't have "Fairlady Z Story& History" so I just ordered it. Will go well with my library.
  24. I like it. I still don't like the look of the front grill.
  25. Kats, I don't think I ever showed you this tool set I bought. New. It comes in a cloth bag with fold-over and silver snap. It is printed "NISSAN MOTOR". The wrenches are 'SANKI' in sizes 8-10, 10-12, 12-14, 17-19, and 22-24. Drop forged; they stack up in the red metal clip. The screw drivers are stamped in the metal shank 'NISSAN' for the flat blade and 'RABBIT' for the Phillips head. The pliers and adjustable wrench are marked 'NISSAN'. It came with a valve gauge, no markings, and just one blade.
