Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432
Normally the way a system like this would work, is the air would collect at the radiator neck and be burped to the bottle when the pressure rises in the radiator. It comes into the bottle from the bottom. When the radiator cools and causes a vacuum in the radiator, liquid is drawn back from the coolant reservoir. This keeps the cooling system purged of air

The last word in Datsun
Pretty cars and I love the Jenvey EFI look with coil on plug The cars aren't cheap at $89,176 / $101,916 / $114,656, but it does take a lot of time and money to build a car like this. Obviously the $100k Z already exists as these guys are in business with at least 7 cars on the floor currently. Props to them for making a living doing something you love, irregardless of the money! Also you know when the customer calls, if they've been on the website they are already considering spending what your asking...

Hello from across the pond! Searching for a 240z
That is a quick collection of cars! What is the first car in line, the dark blue one, next to the Noble?

Datsun-240z Vs Fairlady-z432
I believe to have the coolant flow both ways the bottle and the line will have to be able to hold pressure the same way the radiator cap does. Also the radiator cap will have to be able to allow the coolant to flow into the radiator versus the current set up where it simply allows over pressure discharge

He evidently has one of those if I read the original list correctly

Rear Bumper Installation questions
@240260280 Not to thread jack but how did you make the sniffer? I understand the part I see, what about the ends in the exhaust?

front suspension and tire clearance problem
The spindle that fits into the hub is a fixed piece to the strut and basically sets the angle there. Like ZedHead is saying, it has to be in the hub, bearings or the wheel. Nothing else would affect that area of clearance

That sounds like a lot of fun! Been a long time since I've been to Virginia. Both of my parents were from Virginia...

7" brake booster repair and restoration
I have that tool and that was my first thought. I assume you blanked off the master cylinder port? Did it take forever to draw the 15" of vacuum? You were moving the brake pedal clevis looking for leaks, correct?

[SOLD] 1973 Datsun 240Z Scarab
Pretty close to fully qualified! I lack the racist behavior that is evidently necessary per Wikipedia but I drive a 15 year old Ford, have 2 drooling great danes and am sometimes not polished enough, but I am comfortable in my own skin. Like ZedHead said "some rednecks do good work". There are not many things I can't make and I tend to have a perfectionist nature. It's all good though. I know myself ...

I could resemble that remark. I am sure I know people that would classify me as such...?

7" brake booster repair and restoration
I thought I would post this up here instead of burying it in my build thread. Does any one have ideas on how to bench test a brake booster? I have an assortment of 5 or so small boosters. I would like to bench test them to see if any of them are good. Then restore the best candidate Thoughts?

Is my coilover spring rate too high?
It is my understanding that on the 240z the front springs are indeed different

l24 blocked engine build - Few Questions
I believe the 4mm total is the amount of distance that the tensioner has the ability to accommodate. I don't know that you could take all 4mm off the bottom of the head

Finally Taking the Plunge - EFI
Both the intake pump by tanks inc and the Holley blanket are really cool. The Holley is really neat in that the whole thing doesn't need to be submerged. The Holley video was fascinating although it sounds like the GPM volume of the fuel pump can over come the surface tension of the fuel blanket if it's not sized properly. Not cheap but neat tech!

l24 blocked engine build - Few Questions
I am unfamiliar with that particular tensioner. I was just curious if the loss of deck height has to get dealt with the same way a shaved head would. If so, you could end up with a lot of shims under the towers and that seems like it would make valve train geometry difficult

1973 Rebuild
I used the value out of Haynes. It was somewhere in that range, about 40 pounds. I don't think that is the problem. I think your bolts are 5mm too long

l24 blocked engine build - Few Questions
How does decking the block affect the timing chain length? Do you have to shim the towers to account for the deck height? Even if the head doesn't get shaved? How does that affect the valvetrain geometry?

1973 Rebuild
Those look like the same rotors I just installed. I am fairly confidant these are the original bolts and washers that I replated. They are slightly recessed when torqued. I had to go double check after you posted this

Be sure and post up lots of pics and info! That way I can crib off of you on Cody's upcoming build. ? His motor only has so many miles left in it...

1971 HLS30-14938 "Lily" build
So I contacted Fedhill about a thread size question and he supplied me with a name of a company that makes custom lines Crown Peformance 760 599 0090 I got two custom lines made for the rear maxima calipers for like $60 I told them the length I wanted and the ends. Had them in like 3 or 4 days. Great service! I got a 45 degree banjo fitting on the caliper end to make them fit a little better. I also got the banjo bolts and washers from them for a very reasonable price

Idle problems.
What about plugging the vacuum booster line or some of these other lines to try to isolate the issue?

Rear suspension arms bushings
My car is not on the ground but I suspect the ride will be the same or maybe slightly less jarring. I used no poly bushings on my build
