its just a bad pic i will try and get better ones up soon
  2. I think politicians are a different kind of breed, a personality type that includes arrogance, narcissism and above all fluid morals/ethics. There are lots of people that go into politics with good intentions, they try their best but find they can't accomplish anything unless they play the game. So ultimately we end up with a group of people to vote for that are worst possible candidates to become a leader.
  3. About the fender mirrors, not bad in the rain . Kats
  4. Why would any good sane individual run for public office and step up for the abuse of you and your family to run for a job that pays $150k to 400k. There are a lot of easier ways to make money. If you're honest and don't intend to abuse the system there's no money in it! Why would you step up for that and have people accost your wife or kids in public. Drag people up out of your past that may or may not be telling the truth. The system is built to protect itself now. It's a leviathon that wants to be fed. Don't get in the way or you might look like a meal! Rich kids have the connections to keep a lot of this off of themselves. When was the last time you saw a newspaper run a crushing ad on a car dealership. They don't because that is one of their main sources of ad revenue.
  5. The old 73 contributes to yet another friend in need. All is right with the world. At least the one I care about.
  6. It would be nice if you could drop the tank somehow at the storage place and have all winter to restore the tank, less down time in the spring.
  7. Hi , I replaced a battery of my Z432 . This is small one , so associated parts such as a tray /a holder / a cap everything is different from the export S30 cars . The negative terminal is smaller , so you need to have a specific cable for this Japanese S30 . However , there was an optional item “ battery for cold erea “ in Japan , in that case you will have the same big battery as an export S30 . To make a label , I used a paper bag for the key as a donor, then modified it to have some authentic look . Kats
  8. I guess once we stop putting spoiled rich kids into office, our countries may stand a chance.
  9. Ended up at Home Depot with a M8 x 1.25 x 20 flange bolt and M8 copper washer. The flange bolt has a larger head to get good contact with the washer. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
  10. I have a very clean cylinder head from a Maxima for sale as is , or build to suit. If you don’t know much about these they are a very nice option for a Z motor. Small well designed combustion chambers ( approx 40cc) with a nice quench pad to help resist detonation . It has exhaust liners , but they flow great unless your building a race motor. If you do some research you’ll find it makes a sweet little hot rod head for your block. The MN 47 head came with the bigger 35mm exhaust valves and has 42mm intakes . This head will work on any Z block , the only exception is that a stock L24 block might need to be clearanced on the exhaust side. I can walk anyone thru that detail. These heads are drilled to except both carbs and EFI. This particular head has been pressure checked, checked for flatness and has VG guides and valves in it now. You can literally pop in a cam and springs and go! Or I would be willing to do that also. Or put the bigger 44mm valves in this head and drop it in your L28 block and make a killer motor. This is one of the cleanest heads I’ve ever owned . Almost zero corrosion and clean as a whistle inside. Some good reading over at HybridZ’s about cylinder heads I am currently building this head for my L28 build. Ported and bigger intake valves! http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/39134-big-and-nasty-headwork/ So buy it as is or let me build you something . Contact me for details or more pics sfinnerty1018@gmail.com
  11. So if you had the chance to ask Bob Sharp just one question what would it be? Here's some general areas you might think about for your question: Racing in general BSR race car drivers (Fitzy, Sam, Paul, Walter, Paul, et al) Competition (other drivers) Managing a race team Interactions with other race teams Interactions with Datsun/Nissan/Nissan Comp/Coventry, etc I doubt Bob will remember technical details like what camber settings or cam profiles did you use in the 1985 300ZXT that Newman drove. I know I can't remember every detail of my set-up and my season ended 6 weeks ago. A few years back I asked Bob if he could only get to drive one of his race cars which one would it be and he never hesitated - "the GTU car with 15 inch rear rims", "I could put that car anywhere".
  12. I'm not familiar with the green coating but generally, the metal surfaces should be clean metal. No coatings. It sounds like that green coating might have been meant to be removed completely, and that you did glue the flywheel to the clutch disc. You should take it back apart and clean those surfaces and you can probably save the parts.

first set of seat guard samples....
  15. I did take a look at thier stuff before pulling the trigger on silvermine. Didn't notice the e brake functionality add on. Too late now! Brakes have shipped. And for the guys interested in model etc for the brakes, i asked Edan what they are for future pad replacement reasons... As follows stage 4 front kit uses 1991 toyota 4runner v6 caliper pads. and 1983 300zx n/a front rotors stage 4 rear uses 2006 mustang gt rear caliper pads and re drilled rotors Sent from my SM-N950W using Tapatalk
  16. I once heard politics compared to a stock pot. When the scum rises to the top it's supposed to be removed.
  17. My friend is going to go back and get the part numbers for me on the exact rotor and calipers so we can determine the model years of each.
  18. I feel worried for my kids ( 22 and 28), for what they have to deal with . And that’s from every side. Liberal, conservative , it doesn’t matter. There is other issues like global warming , a smaller more connected world, and many other things that our unconnected , ignorant bliss life didn’t have to deal with at their age. The times - they are a changing ( confusing) - sing along.
  19. I spent an hour taping off the horns to protect the electronics. I then media blasted them. Then took them to a auto paint shop. The rears are single stage 2 part black paint. The grills are powder coated bk06. Just like the rest of my z.
  20. I think the calipers in the silvermine stage 4 kit are 00 to 05 stang Sent from my SM-N950W using Tapatalk
  21. According to Rockauto, the Mustang is a 43mm and the Maxima is a 38mm
  22. That's actually not a bad idea. Many people get the cart before the horse when they get the extra horsepower before they get the extra braking. Much wiser to improve the braking then improve the "Go"
  23. Or maybe frying a robot bee! Point is... It shouldn't start and stop as the wire burns back so far that it breaks the arc until it contacts again and starts. It should be a nice steady sizzle. Like frying that bee. This is making me both hungry and wanting to weld something. Is that wrong?
  24. Probably the same supplier for both. The Mustang rotor is vented. Unlike the Z31 rotor, it has to be drilled for four lug. I plan to make a drill jig to make replacement rotors easier.
  25. Overall, I think it was a brilliant design... for its time. Some of its shortcomings got remedied by Nissan relatively quickly (e.g. the angled halfshafts). Others stayed pretty much untouched (you can make up your own list ). Of course, that's part of the reason why most of us enjoy owning these cars.
  26. I've been selling a few things on facebook.com, trying to de-clutter. Good luck with that huh? Anyway I read something that was written by a 15 year old apparently but it made some sense to me. Let's see if I can recall the phrase, "the faker you are the bigger your circle, the realer you are the smaller your circle". I got a kick out of that. Looking at my phone, the RECENT CALLS goes like this, MOM...WORK...DAD...MOM...MOM...PAPA JOHNS. That's a whole weeks worth.
  27. More than happy to help you spend your money...!
  28. Just got the clock in from Ron at zclocks.com. This baby looks brand new! New quartz mechanism has been installed. Should be a lot more reliable than the old mech.
  29. How do you like the Mustang GT (stage 4) rear kit @grannyknot? What front brakes do you run? I am about to get the Silvermine stage 4 brackets and piece that rear setup together from Mustang parts on hand for my 260 endurance race car. I plan to pair the Mustang rear setup with the typical vented Toyota 4 pot front setup and likely a Wilwood 1" MC. A friend has the same front and rear brakes on his 240Z vintage racer, but he hasn't actually tried it yet. I did take one of my Konig Rewind 15x7 wheels over to his house and it fit over the rear brake setup. His Enkie Classic Compe 15x7 wheels have a ton of room, while my Rewinds are fairly tight, but both fit.
  30. So I did some more blocking tonight. Also worked on getting the new mirrors mounted. I bought a kit with an assortment of metric rivnuts. I also ordered some oval head 5mm SS screws from Ebay. Matched up the rivnut diameter to a step drill and enlarged the holes in the door. Then made an attempt with a self made tool, and the result The nut I had on the bottom was a different diameter and pulled some of the threads up. So I drilled that one out and redid it. I used a small washer with a larger one on top to make it easier to tighten down the 5mm nut. So I ended up with this, by using a ratcheting wrench and a socket You need to apply a good bit of downward force to keep the rivnut from spinning in the door. Once it starts to expand it gets easier. A new door mirror mounted up I like these mirrors. I sourced them off Ebay a number of years ago, but what I like about them is the passenger mirror is a wide view mirror and the drivers side is normal. I haven't seen them again
  31. BIG EDIT Sorry about this but the 1/2"x20 is completely wrong, You are looking for an M8x1.25 bolt. I was looking through my notes and 1/2"x20 is what I have there but that must be for something else, I just went out to the storage shed to dig out the gas tank. A 1977 280z gas tank has M8x1.25 drain bolt. Note to self, re check my notes

  33. Injectors do not go bad generally. They can sit for a long time. if you feel like performing some maintenance you can A: clean them using a sonic tub (can be found around $10 online) or B: back flush them, the do have a tiny filter inside (replaceable) As to the back flushing you will need the body of a 10cc syringe and carb cleaner, see here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFJlTfHyrUk I do have to credit the krout engineers on that one, they did come up with a perfect design 50 years ago that serves us faithfully to this day.
