I'm a Boy Scout covered with patches, again.
To copy and paste from the script of "The Holy Grail"... "Man: Well I object to your...you automatically treat me like an inferior! Arthur: Well I *am* king... Man: Oh, king, eh, very nice. And 'ow'd you get that, eh? (he reaches his destination and stops, dropping the cart) By exploiting the workers! By 'angin' on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society. If there's ever going to be any progress,-- Woman: Dennis! There's some lovely filth down 'ere! (noticing Arthur) Oh! 'Ow'd'ja do? Arthur: How do you do, good lady. I am Arthur, king of the Britons. Whose castle is that? Woman: King of the 'oo? Arthur: King of the Britons. Woman: 'Oo are the Britons? Arthur: Well we all are! We are all Britons! And I am your king. Woman: I didn't know we 'ad a king! I thought we were autonomous collective. Man: (mad) You're fooling yourself! We're living in a dictatorship! A self-perpetuating autocracy in which the working classes-- Woman: There you go, bringing class into it again...3 points

[2021] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
Four members of the Georgia Z Club participated in my city's Christmas Parade. We would have liked a better turnout, but had some competition from some football game. A good time was had and we enjoyed barbecue afterwards.3 points

But, Count De Monet (Count da Money) would also know that GRAND MASTERS only use their powers for good, not evil, on this forum. With awesome power comes awesome responsibility. You may quote me. 😎2 points

Z's on BAT and other places collection
Mart, the thing about FB is most people don't know that to put some car make and models in the ad, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom and select "other' it will then let you type in what you really have. Most just pick from the list and try to get close. 240SX comes up a lot for the Z's.2 points

Z Proto: The next z reveal
2 points@reefedjib Read through your posts with interest regarding the calculations for your "future build". You got @Captain Obvious attention. Nice work. You mention Dave Rebello and calcs that feature a 3.2 liter with triples several times. As a possible alternative, I would suggest you contact the Honorable Eiji Hosami at Datsun Spirit in Manassas, Virginia and discuss your plans. With you being in N. C. he would be a much closer build partner. If anyone can achieve the results expected from these figures, he would be it. Here's a teaser : http://datsunspirit.net/spl-series/ Peruse his website-----you'll like it!2 points

I'm a Boy Scout covered with patches, again.
I don't know how many badges there are available... All I know is that we're all chasing Cliff! So he's got eleven and you've only got ten. The one that he has that you don't is "Well Followed". You need to have 10 people following you to get that badge and you've only got nine. So you need to lobby JUST ONE MORE PERSON to follow you and you'll have as many badges as Cliff. I'm two badges behind, and the one I'm chasing now is "Dedicated" (which you and Cliff both already have). It requires you to log in for seven days straight. With my hit-and-miss on-line presence, I've apparently never achieved that. I'm trying now though, starting yesterday. Haha!! Of course, if @Mike catches wind of any of this gaming of the system, it's all over. LOL. There are threads on the interwebs about this new badge system and turning it into a video game. It's designed to encourage participation and site traffic. Most people seem to like it.1 point

Fusible Links Smoking
1 pointI realize that I'm late to this thread, but I would like to add my experience while I recently brought my entire electrical system back on-line. Rather than use a battery, I used a cheap 'laboratory' power supply, capable of 12 volts at 10 amps. The nice thing is that you can put it in current-limiting mode to limit the current to, for example, 1 amp, or even less. This can let you do a lot of testing and probing without burning things up. It also lets you see the current draw of the working circuits.1 point

Restoration of BringaTrailer 240z - HLS30-35883
Enjoyed reading through that. You got some nice results Patcon. I have been tempted to do some on my own, but so far have avoided because I don't see enough pros to counter cons for my situation. Space in my garage is always a factor. Chemicals that get stored for very long periods of time without use are another big con for me. Anyway, I wish I could plate a few things here and there. Good news for me is that Texas Precision Plating (Steve) said I can send my parts to him and they will plate them. I am happy about that. I had boxed most things up already. Yesterday, I "bent" the hard lines that go through the transmission tunnel (brake, fuel supply, fuel return, and gas tank vent) so they could fit in a box. I used the gas cylinder from my Mig as a form, and put one ~180 degree bend in each long hard line. Along with those in a large box, I put a lot of the large parts which are to receive zinc with yellow chromate (gold) packed in their own box. I have two boxes to ship them. The other box is just hardware and small parts and comes to 50 lbs!1 point

Butthurt Emissions delete....
1 pointI couldn't find where EGR was discussed in the new to me 280z thread. Was it on another forum? Nice car by the way. Deleting the EGR and catalytic converter from my '80ZX were one of the 1st things I did to it. Were you wanting to know what equipment and lines to delete? Or just whether or not the deleting it can have a negative impact? I don't really think it has any adverse effects.1 point

L28 su 3 cylinders lean?
1 pointSo... Front 3 cylinders run lean with two different carb setups. the lean condition is probably not down to the carbs. what else do all 3 front cylinders have in common? did both carb sets use the same manifold? look for hole in the manifold, or warped mounting face.1 point

Information about Z designations and years like (240-260-280, S30 from 1970 to 1978
There is neither a 400Z nor a Z35. It is a Nissan Z with a Z34 Series 2 chassis designation. Also the Z33 was 2003 MY to 2008. And the Nissan Z is 2023 MY.1 point

Z's on BAT and other places collection
$50K-$60K to do a ground up restoration for someone else and make enough money to keep the lights on? Maybe 10 years ago, for a driver quality build, but not today. I don’t want to derail this thread for what it was originally intended for, but you can easily eat up that amount or close to it in part costs alone today - if you’re going for 100% factory spec. Ask me how I know… I can’t see getting one of these cars restored with less than 1000 man hours into it. I understand your time is free, but that is still value added. Think about the guy who can’t do body work or interior work. That’s A LOT to fork up in labor alone that he’ll have to pay. I build up these cars because I like them and enjoy the community. I agree most BaT keyboard jockeys are not in the comments because they love the cars, and do try to fluff up the audience and facilitate a bidding war.1 point

[2021] What Did You Do To/with Your Z Today?
This was actually yesterday, but randalla and I went to a local Cars and Coffee in Scottsdale. We're definitely at the low end of the cars that show up, but get more than our share of attention. The Delorean next to me looked brand new, the Jensen Healey next to Randy was sweet as well.
