  1. Have been taking a break on the Z and just finished up rebuilding this 9"x 45" Logan lathe,
  2. Are you talking about where it came from or where it went? Smoke and mirrors is assumed.
  3. I have many different colors on my 918 colored car, my avatar. Black spoilers to match the rocker stripes, gunmetal wheels match the rear finisher. Msa has some satin. black rewinds I wish I had but they didn't have them when I bought my gunmetals, damn it!!! I would buy them but recently quit the easiest job I've ever had. Never work for friends or family, they get the I'm smarter than you or you wouldn't be working here for me, I would be working for you. Which is true but don't throw that in my face more than once asshole. Rant over, thanks!
  4. The dash is one of three new parts in development. The dash will be offered either as just a carbon skin to be mounted to the original frame and / or as a complete carbon dash that will fit right into OEM mounts and replace the entire OEM dash assembly. This should bring the weight down from 30+ lbs to about 7-10 lbs. We're also releasing a carbon "clamshell" for the steering column that will fit all classic Z cars 240, 260, 280, and we will also offer sill plates for the doors in carbon and texalium. Pictures of all this to come soon to the fb page! Again I believe the door panels will fit a 280 door but with different hole positions. Can anyone confirm this? Or post pics / measurements of a 280 door?? Colin
  5. OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! THE VOICES HAVE RETURNED. PM me.
  6. Funny you guys should ask. I'm starting to develop panels for the 280. I started a post at http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/53157-280z-kick-panel-speaker-pods-in-development/ Check it out. I would love to get input from 280 owners before I finalize things. Thanks Derek
  7. Wish I had more to post. Lately I have been getting a couple nights a week in the garage with the media blaster. Progress is slow but steady. Right now the engine compartment is almost done. Still have a lot of nooks and crannies to get to and I will have to flip the car a few more times to get them all. After the engine bay, I am going to do the nose section of the car, then move to the door frames and windshield ledge and A pillars. The inner cowl looks challenging but it will be done too. I will NOT be blasting any flat sheet metal. No desire to warp any panels. After that, I have the interior and hatch to do. That will be a long job I think. I will probably spend almost as much time vacuuming and blowing out all the media after I'm done too!
  8. Hey! I saw you post this on Facebook and thought; "shame on you, Mike, for not telling us that this is the start of the Suzuka 1000km race in 1970". Here's Nishino Fujita.
  9. Pull the booster hose from your manifold. Then install a short piece of hose on the manifold and plug it. Take it out to the traffic and if it still dies then the booster is not the issue. Don't buy more parts before you are sure.
  10. $600 for the camshaft work? That's nuts. What shop was that anyway?
  11. 1 point
Hi all..still around with my Zcar. Every summer I think I will do more with the car but time flies and then with winter the car get put away. Changed from zztom plate to ZBISCUIT being in horse racing country.
  12. A girlfriend? LOL! Couldn't resist, I'm sorry. 8 (
  13. Any opinions? I think you pulled too hard on the chain tool. I don't like the looks of the oil pan gasket either. I think you ought to keep a very close eye on a plastic tube filled with an organic solvent.
  14. Jalexquijano You never answered my question about what happens if you try to rev the engine when sitting in traffic and the idle gets erratic. I still suspect too much fuel pressure or float levels. If it's a needle problem he will have a hard time finding someone to help get it right
