  1. DATSUN 240Z/260z/280z BRAND NEW OEM WINDSHEILD WIPER BLADE ASSEMBLY. NO RESERVE | eBay
  2. Let's see what he gets for his pointed tip antenna.
  3. Neither the New York Auto Show nor November 1969. Call me 'old school' but I am preferring real intelligence over the artificial stuff...so far.
  4. Love this styling discussion. Especially from the guy with enough finesse to light his face on fire. What a "hero". All these styling comments from everyone who didn't talk to the guy responsible. However, if they DID talk to the actual designer, (I have), they would understand the influences that this car came from and how coincidental it was when it was introduced.
  5. I don't remember if I used that particular part. My steering shaft u-joint was worn out and I took it to a machine shop for replacement. They wouldn't do it for liability reasons so I took it apart, measured all the various dimensions and found a u-joint on the internet that fit. Put the whole thing back together myself. I remember also that u-joint installation between model years is different. Some had the u-joints peened in place and some, like mine, had a clip.
  6. I have dealt with resurrected classics and have been very pleased with their products.
  7. The screw finish is clear zinc. You need to measure the diameter of the shank. Should be 3mm. Just slightly smaller than 1/8".
  8. Well yea. I didn't think you would do anything like that. But how funny was that captain's question; "why"?
  9. Did you do that, or is that what you found when you cleaned up the carbs? Don't tell me you did that. No "crudely executed" about it. That carburetor is ruined.
  10. As I recall, Distinctive Industries was the vinyl manufacturer for the Vintage Z program. I have installed their interior vinyl once and I have another full set on the shelf. There are very subtle differences from original but one would really have to know to see them. Otherwise their products are first rate, fit very well, and look great. I don't think the embossing is an issue.
  11. Ah. I remember talking about this a long time ago. Moved the horns forward to accommodate the a/c radiator?
  12. On my cars, the yellow paint (I assume lacquer) was blotched on with a brush. Fairly messy, seemingly applied in a hurry. So, I looked at all my glass, from both cars, and I can't tell what from the chart. I have some LAMISAFE M-146 and some TEMPERLITE M-215
  13. No, the yellow paint in that picture above is fairly conservative. IMO too neatly done, the paint marks thin and aligned. I think the factory application was far more sloppy.
  14. I have never seen one of those. I would buy one, definitely!
  15. "Wintergreen is an oil made from mint." No, it's made from Wintergreen - Gaultheria procumbens.
  16. You are coming close to violating the first rule; "don't badmouth someone else's car". What might start out as an innocent comment could turn into a knife fight. I've seen it happen...hear.
  17. At least you'll know that the door isn't working properly. Worn out, piece of junk...
  18. One of our members was just asking me about splash pans. My cars don't have them. This was my reply. "I have a collection of images from the first service manuals (ala 1970) showing the splash pan. I think I got these from Kats some time ago. Notice how the pan doesn't have any holes in it. And, despite the color loss from the photograph, the pan is silver."
  19. Those early door dovetail strikers are made of cheap metal and they just disintegrate. And they are really hard to find! The stainless repros perform much better.
  20. Interesting. This is from 26th. November 1969 build.
  21. All that effort to refinish the suspension pieces, re-plate the hardware, paint the yellow assembly marks, and didn't paint the part number on the mustache bar.
  22. Yea, the hood bumpers are the later style. The rear bumper end packing is not 'correct' for this car, but a nice touch IMO. The battery cables, at least the negative cable, is correct and very difficult to find. I can't see the positive cable. Funny how the peanut gallery is fussing over a pointy tip antenna.
  23. Wiring loom cover Motorsport Auto - The Z Store - Interior Wiring Harness Cover, 70-73 240Z
  24. Well, they're just weak and require lubrication all the time. I think if you keep them lubed they should work fine. Honestly, I prefer the later style!
