  1. Did you get the heat reducing ceramic coated header to? I hope so, it really cuts the engine bay heat while running and cools down much faster than the bigger cast iron factory manifold.
  2. Isn't there a fairly new commercial drop in for r-12? It's a pink bottle they used on the coolers at a restaurant I work at.
  3. SEM also makes a rust primer/etcher, it has acid in with it and kills the rust turning it black. The best deal I found on carpet was through ACC on ebay. If you go to their website and get a carpet kit number for what you need, google that number. They make kits for classic cars and most all you'll find originates from them. There was recently a thread on here about replacement door cards, try searching that, hopefully you'll see something.
  4. Looks nice and original. I had a red 240 with white interior that had been redone with an SEM interior paint. That's some good stuff. You're gonna have fun with that Z. A little money but mostly elbow grease and you should have one to show off. 8^)
  5. Welcome to our forum, you'll like it here. Stash that automatic transmission somewhere out of the way, way out of the way, you'll never touch it again. 8^) probably not the 2.4 motor, I like mine's higher stock rpms than a 2.8. Anyway, MORE PICTURES!!!
  6. Not trying to be d*** but my '77 cap will not fit my ZX distributor. It's a good bit shorter and I'm unable to to clip the side hold downs on. But if you have the '77 cap and rotor I guess they will work together, if your car runs, I can't argue with that. I apologize for doubting you. Cliff The ZX has the blue plug wires attached in these photos
  7. I didn't know what to think about "Sweaty Betty" when he first came around, but thankfully he's turned to be one of my favorites. He thinks outside the norm and I like that. Keep on trucking Sweaty.
  8. My '77 cap is way smaller than my zx cap. Are you sure you have a zx distributor?
  9. Yes! I really like the way those wires run. That's my next "bored as hell" job so any info would be greatly appreciated. I've seen the red MSD wires as well. They look good to.
  10. I personally run the ngk bp6es copper plugs like the originals, just widen the gap. Its something like .38 to .44 for the ZX. They're not stocking them anymore and reccomend a hotter bp5es I think. I read it's a result of the new blend of gasoline & ethanol. Don't know for sure though, read on the www.com. Ngk has a neat plug finder on there web page, try that.
  11. The ZX cap is bigger than a Z's. Also the spark plug gap is wider too.
  12. No offense intended, it's a joke about Viagras ability to make an older man (or car in your case) preform like a young man (or car). If you try this beware that any effects lasting longer than 4 hours you should see your mechanic, FYI.
  13. That's a good shot, showing they DO have a correct orientation. Driver's side and passenger's side, it's slight but it's there. I put one on upside down once and it caused a vacuum link.
  14. Sounds like mine before I put the CTS tweak on but opposite. Mine spit and sputtered bucked like crazy until 2500 or 3000 rpm then pulled good. Could your wires be reversed where the CTS and thermotine plugs are, the thermostat housing and the other place about a foot towards the windshield? You could try clamping the return hose to build more fuel pressure and see if that makes it run better.
  15. I'm using an 11.5 lb 225mm aluminum flywheel. Exedy p/n 6009 I think, clutch kit on a '79 ZX wide 5 out of a 4 seater. 75 mph in 5th is right at 2,250 rpm on the highway. 180 differential. It's perfect for me, quick to rev around town but nice and quite on the interstates. Everything bolted up just as the www.com said. It popped out of reverse and 5th until I ground a little on the front and backside of my shifter. Everything is "a okay" now.
  16. They called it vocational school when I went in high school. 10am until 2:30pm we went to goof off at the technical college. Keep your nose clean! Wear a respirator.
  17. okay. You're not in a hurry thank goodness. I'm pretty sure it would work, maybe somebody can say for sure. It'll be here.
  18. @SeKcGamer I found one in my pile. It looks good and comparing it to my '77 it's ALMOST identical. One of the coolant lines to the AARs warming plate is a little longer. I don't have a warmer with coolant so those are plugged on my car. Thermotine switch is different but I think all the threads are the same throughout the years? $30 and you pay fedex. I'll check back every 30 minutes or so.
  19. Scratch all that! I didn't read up like I should, I always start at the end. Sorry.
  20. I'd bet those come with the rubber and the clamp is on the hose in the picture. That looks to be the best deal on new ones plus they look an awful lot like my Standard FJ707Ts. You might even find a coupon code for O'reilly's and get an extra 10% off?
  21. When I was going through that search the Standard FJ707T was the best choice at the time but they have gone waaaay up, more than double in price. They were made in South Carolina, came with the rubber insulators and high pressure band type clamps.
  22. I've got a '79 ZX housing. I'll try and find it today, let you know asap. I thought he may have to plug a hole or two but that's no big deal.
  23. Msa's out of stock, unavailable. Don't hold your breathe waiting on me but I was going to hit my junkyard and get some small stuff, those thermostat parts too but mainly the engine bay inspection lights. I'll let you know after I go, maybe this week?
