  1. I've seen them pitted with rust too. Try a magnet and you'll know.
  2. We have a small farming college here that still gives those out. Most people hang them off their trunk latch though. Auburn Tigers. Most of the students live in trailer parks, seriously. EDIT: I need to get that right, they have a huge campus and room for trailer parks plus it's much cheaper than living anywhere near the Square. There's some super nice condos in that area. I've had some good times down on the plains, as we say. They're not as Greek oriented as the University of Alabama, come one come all in Auburn. Not so friendly in Tuscaloosa.
  3. The yankees asked for a "Phillip". Always in a hurry.
  4. You get the bigger valves too? More air flow = less heat, I think.
  5. I had an Exxon tiger tail that hung outside my gas lid. Nothing that nice or meaningful though (I'm guessing).
  6. I thought they were different lengths after I posted my reply. Thanks for confirming Mr Lon.
  7. That's a darn good reason! What are using, p79?
  8. I'm sure Steve has his reasons for the electric pump but I like to believe the mechanical works fine. Dizeased runs them on his built up motors without issue. My guy told me the mechanical pump would run triples until higher rpms.
  9. Thomohawk would be a buyer, he's nostalgic or vintage, my dictionary is in the other room so big words escape at the moment. 8^( Oh my, I just remembered he has a 280. Sorry.
  10. That looks very good!
  11. Didn't the '73s have bigger exhaust vales on the later e88? I'm just being curious so don't bother with me too much. But thank you for the knowledge, I like to learn.
  12. Thank you but I know bras wear the paint premature. I hauled my boat with a cover many miles to races and it wore through the clear coat at the high spots. If you included the Renault Le Car with the Le Bra I'd buy it without the Le Panties.
  13. This guy is a thinker. It takes more than time and money, I'm proof of that because I'm broke and hardly have time to sleep
  14. The coolant lines and the float ears is all I can say. The 3 screws have longer in front carb. I put two rear carb lids on mine and it finally runs like what I suspected it should, good up hill and everywhere else. Floats were easier to set, hopefully I'll never have to touch them again. Whichinever nephew gets it might have to but I'll be worm food.
  15. I agree that removing the coolant lines had little to no benefits on my '72. After rebuilding the motor and firing it for the 20 minute run in I had some leaking so I shut it down and plugged all that going through the manifolds. I can't tell one second of difference between warm up times but I did eliminate future leaky areas so I'll not go backwards. The only things I've noticed between a '73 & '72 is the rod size and the air pump nipples. Dizeased did you use '72 manifolds and balance tube on your '73? I can't think of anything major that is different but then again I DON'T CARE, MINE RUNS GREAT. I bet it's those dang front bumper mounts! That extra weight.
  16. Nice car! Check zhome.com for history and vin #s. Never seen a white rear finisher before. It would make the taillights stand out better, I guess?
  17. Do the pre '73s have the air tube on the exhaust manifolds? Both my '72s did not but '73 motor I bought had those nipples on the manifold.
  18. My Dad (78) still does this and I have to figure out what he did and try and make it right without spending a dime, not working he says there's no money to pay out. That's a crock of sh*t. Thank goodness for the internet, now I'm a lawnmower mechanic, an electrician and a plumber to him.
  19. I bought a set of SS hoses off flea-bay and they were about a half of a foot longer than the rubber OEs I took off. I figure they make a "one size fits alot" hose. These were the clear coated ones, $50 maybe.
  20. Maybe Nissan made some padding/push-ups for those? I wonder if I could get that off with one hand? Use to I could, been awhile though. Velcro is the shiznitz.
  21. I see now the return is for excess fuel going to the carbs. The vent/overflow is for excess out of the carbs. I guess you'd have to plumb in some sort of purge tank for that to work.
  22. I might be interested. Do you have the matching Le Panties? I can't drive around half lingeried.
  23. I don't know much about how these work but if you had hot fuel in the immediate area of the carbs could you pull the choke, dropping the nozzles away from the needle and push the hot fuel through the return with an electric fuel pump? Sorta like purging an nos system?
