  1. Finally! It's in and makes a little static noise when I push the power knob, green light and illumination lights work. That was tough for me, I'm the bull in a china shop so not breaking any plastic was a miracle. Thanks again to Dr Dave Morales for putting me on the right path. Until his post I was going at it blind. Here's a crappy picture from a crap phone. Console will have to wait until tomorrow, it's 3 hours past Miller Time.
  2. Mike I'll just try a restore for a couple of weeks ago and see if it changes back to the way it was. Thanks again.

This is how I do it or the "insert other media" button
  5. Here's that thread of Diseazed's

Those look great to me but have you tried your phone's camera without flash then email to yourself and save it to your PC? That works for me when I shoot something lighted. Thanks for posting those. That's the 5 panel led without the top panel, so 4 leds and you still have to dim them down some. Good to know!
  7. I like them painted the body color too.

Scratch that idea! I'm a long way from tackling this project so I won't muddy the water anymore in my head. After reading I realize this will require pulling the gauges to get those little green lenses out. For now I'll get 4 miniature bulbs for the three gauges in the middle plus the glove box. They have 4 watt bulbs on hand at my local Advanced Auto. Thanks for everybody's input and for the envy I have now, I'm talking to you Dr Dave! And I can't imagine not doing what Captain O did with the third bulb on the speedometer, that dim top right is so "Obvious" to me now. These are from 2011, member Ty Marbry. I think his are a bit too bright, I'll definitely get the warm white.

I want to start a new topic with LED pictures from the members who've done the swap and I will when I fire the old laptop up. Already have Dr Dave's and Tomohawk's to start it off.
  10. Carefully use the red straw to the sides, don't get wd-40 on the belt if you can help it or you'll have oily stains on your Sunday/sunny dresses. I did it to my 240s bottom one. Good luck!
  11. @Diseazd just did that zwap on a '73 he has. He can tell you what Chickenman said, I like to get as much info as I can though.

Well done! Your's looks great, all over. I have a '77 thats still original but for the motor. I deleted a bunch of stuff for pollution, we don't have the inspection here, yet. That's next, I want it for my daily driver but I want it nice but can't afford the price at this time.
  13. They tied it up with the election in France, which Poot-in lost. Fargin cork soaker.

Isn't that the truth! That rheostat is pretty much an off/on in my '72.

So "cool white" or "warm white"? Captain Oooooo face likes the warm white and I pretty much blindly go along with what he says and without any problems; he's a pretty smart feller.

Dmorales you have pretty much SOLD me! Your interior lights look fantastic.
  17. Hey Zed did "adding recipients" allow you to forward a text? It's a pain but the only way I could figure out. If you want save a text email it to yourself or do a screen grab on your phone. If I can help in anyway just HOLLA, HOLLA.

Steve I think you just made my current project easier. I'm gonna get the OE radio in for now. Before I spend a dime on led gauges I need that headlight upgrade from mr Irwin. I won't drive at night unless I get stuck out after dark. When I get my exterior lights switched to leds, after the headlight fix, I'll do my interiors to leds. I got excited and jumped ahead of what I need to do. 8^( Plus I'll have time to read up/research more. I still haven't plumbed my heater core back in the loop. Lazy driver right now while the weather is soooooo nice.
  19. That white space is new and what I'm talking about. Maybe it's on my end, image sizing or some setting I screwed up. I'll play with it more. Thank You Mike, your the best!

The speedo has two and the tach? So I need 7 gauge bulbs. What color are you using Greg? I like the way the green looks now but after seeing smorales white I like that too. I can image search and find some to compare. And your talking about the arrows need the regular bulb? Thanks guys!
  21. When you click on those images in post 1 they come up as a full sized picture? They don't when I click on them.
  22. @Mike When I choose a picture it shows uploaded on the forum with about 2/3rds added blank page. In doing so it only shows the picture once it's added in the post about 1/3rd the size.

I need to find out what bulb is in the speedo and the tach and add them but here's what i think to start off with. Three 5 panel LEDs for the fuel/amp/clock gauges. Two 4 panel festoons for the map light and the dome light One 90 degree 4 panel for the glove box

After reading, what is the most popular gauge replacement LED. I think the 5 LED tower bulbs were mentioned most and what about colors? Warm white, cool white or green? Thanks for any and all opinions.
  25. After reading that first link I feel even stupider. I was trying to get the radio's holes to line up with the very back bolts, the one with the ground wire in Can Tec's picture. It didn't want to go that far back, now I know why. I had know idea about that rear plate either. Can't wait until I feel better, loosened up, so I can go back to contortionists practice. The circus is in town, I'm trying out for the Biggest Clown. Shouldn't be much of a contest.
