BAT does it the right way in my opinion, they point out the good the bad and the ugly. Unlike ebay or craigslist where the better you are at misrepresenting the car the more you'll get for it.

4 barrel intake
Zed I can get that by clicking "all activity" I think but you'll get the Bender stuff too.

1972 JCR 240z
I bought a motor a few years ago that had gas in the oil pan from the carbs being out of the ballpark rich. Took the valve cover off and the valve train looked like new for om the gas wash. Never seen square headlights on a 240, interesting looking car. Shined up nicely!

I have 918 color code. Do you think PPG was the OE paint supplier? That would be kind of cool.

Nikkie fuel pump rebuild...sort of
Buy a lottery ticket! You got lucky with that. O'Reillys has the 5 screw image on their website, I ordered one and got the stamped UFO pump. 8^(

I can still buy the 240 valve from local Nissan for like $40. The 280s are NLA? That's nucking futs.

That's something I haven't thought about! Do you have good spark as Bob states.

Good call JSM! I'm not remembering how they work exactly, maybe some type ball valve or magnetic but they are a lot more prone to fail than a fuel injector. Wrap some tape or slide two pieces of hose over your clamping tool, vise-grips to keep from cutting into the CSV hose.

Try unplugging the cold start valve. I know it's new but it could be your problem and it's hot enough now that it shouldn't even be active.

We used bigger (I think?) needles for the hvlp spray heads and thinned it with a latex conditioner called Floetrol. Sprayed out good but you could dent it with your fingernail. That's the early stuff. What I've used in the last 10 years dried much harder. Okay, I'm sorry to get off subject and am done reminiscing. Thanks, Cliff.

I remember back in the early 90s when our PPG paint rep said they had come up with waterborne trim paint for homeowners. High gloss trim paint you clean up with water! Smelt just like Windex. Couldn't believe what he was saying back then and now to read this, wow. Whodathunkit, water based automotive paint. Can't wait to read your post on this.

Not sure if I've shown you this? If so, sorry but it has really helped me over the years with my '77. Thanks again to @240260280 http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/ Click on "EFI and FUEL" Another thought that has probably been said before, are you absolutely sure the vacuum hose to the Fuel Pressure Regulator is good and pulling vacuum? 40 year old rubber cracks.

Is the weather going to hold off for you lucky guys in Austin? I've been watching and it looks to be a close call. I remember some parking decks downtown you all might get in if needed. Wipe em down with rain-x.

Rear main seal installation
What gets me is the use of GD on television and that's one of the 10 commandments but arse or $^!# gets bleeped out? I guess being from the South that bothers me more than others?

The newer needle valves cannot be set upside down. I learned working on that the hard way. Hold them the correct way as installed and blow through the inlet pushing up on the float until your breathe is stopped. Or set up a jar thats about the same circumference as the float bowls and make a mark on the glass. I'm using my phone now and can't provide pics, sorry. I will in the morning though. Google "setting floats 240z classiczcars.com" or "float bowl lids 240z classiczcars.com".
