Is it carburetors or efi? I know a good informative thread on carb vent lines it's long but has good info and pics.

You can take a 4 penny finish nail and push the center pins out of those rivets and get the rivet out plus reuse it. You have to find the pin though and that can be tough. Nissan still sales those and there's some good alternatives on ebay.

I had one that the PO had filled in with a low gloss black elastomeric caulk. Like you use to seal commercial windows. It looked pretty darn good to me. I'll try and find a picture when I get my laptop out.

Yes, you stole it! That's a good deal looking at the pictures. I have that in mine plus a years worth of hard work mostly laying on my garage floor.

You'll need to look at the interior section of a FSM for the p/ns, this is what i found with a quick google.com search.

You might find the right size with a 180 bend in it and just cut out the 180? Good luck, my heater core valve leaked and I smelt that sweet smell you describe. Second is do you want to work on one or buy a turn key car. 280s are fuel injected, 240s are carbureted. A fuel injected car as old as ours would need some new parts but the carburated ones just need a good rebuilding of the carbs. No ECU, coolant temp sensor tweak etc. and the carbs are more compatible with a performance cam than an EFI car. My $.02.

I'd go with the 2020 Corvette.

This fixed mine. I guess it was dirty like Zed says above but so far so good. You could also check the bulb sockets to see if they are getting power.

The fuel delivery pump will need some thought also. Your head won't accept a mechanical pump as it's cast. You could get a low pressure electric pump way cheaper than milling out the hole for a mechanical pump. Always enjoy reading about a resurrection.

I have an interest here. Both mine have Red Kote! Reading along... I thought about pulling the suction hose off the pump and idling it out of a small gas jug with high octane. I think i would tighten the valves to hot spec to during the clean fuel idle. If you google red kote directions from Damon Indst. they stress a full cure for best results. Ask your radiator shop about that then how long was it before you put fuel in? Best of luck.

I bought some boots off ebay. Get the opening ends the same is all I needed to do. I bought those metal locking bands for an atv at a local bike shop. Worked out good for me. Remembering more with the help of some coffee. The boots I bought had step up sizing on the tie rod ends. Started small and went larger. I cut off the first size so it would have a good fit. Those metal bands go through an opening then you bend them back and fourth until the excess breaks off. Much better than zip ties for the steering rack ends.

Yep. I use "right is right, left is wrong" to remember.
