  1. I totally understand about not wanting to drive in Atalanta. I think most of the driving will be North of Atlanta and you will get to meet some of the excellent board members in person. They are a colorful crew!

What happens if you put brackets around them?
  3. Your logic is good and you could infer results like that. I wonder how many people have quantifiable results versus just the butt dyno?
  4. My plating bench is under a covered roof outside my shop.I keep the bench outside because I didn't want the fumes in my shop. I keep it covered in plastic to keep dirt and sawdust off of it. The power supply sits between the SP degreaser and the pickle tank. So right next door, like 4". I suspect the fumes from all of the solutions can move around under the plastic. All of the chromate solutions have very low Ph's too. The new one will be set out and removed for every plating session I thought about seeing if any of my "Sparky" friends wanted to take a shot at repairing it for giggles @Captain Obvious @SteveJ
  5. We might do that when the salt clears up. We could bring our 350z and go for a run through the hills. Are you going to Zcon in Atlanta?
  6. I would think one of the biggest issues for buyers would be the dash modifications. The rest of it seems pretty much run of the mill...
  7. I think you are going to have a real challenge getting it properly tuned using the factory EFI. You need more resolution in your maps and the shape of the maps will be different than what the stock system can provide. I use the term "Maps" loosely as I don't know that the stock ECU even really uses a map BTW your numbers are really rich...
  8. @Travel'n Man That's a good looking engine. Will have to come up some time and see it close up...
  9. To do this properly you really need to run the different exhaust on the same car and check Dyno numbers. Might be hard to get good numbers with out doing that...

@sweatybetty Love the camera with sound. What game camera are you using? Looks like a sow with 2 cubs. Is it snowing there or is that just dew floating around?
  11. Sorry for that. I think it is a great looking car! Keep on enjoying it...
  12. Well I tried to work on these strut caps some more. Prepped them and was ready to plate. Cut the power source on and it sparked and blew out the fuse. On closer examination it had a lot of condensate on it. Took it in the shop cleaned it up. Opened it up, checked it over and replaced the fuse and it did it again. Saw it arc on the board. So the lesson here is to not store this outside or near the chemicals for extended periods. I suspect the acid fumes damaged the board, so I ordered a new power supply today...
  13. @David F Unless you're an electrical engineer with 30 years of experience then you might want to listen to SteveJ. He has forgotten more about electricity than most will ever know. There is a method to his questions to locate the problem quickly Also Grannyknots suggestion is a good one for a separate thread. That is generally accepted forum etiquette...good luck
  14. So good to have you back. Your work is always inspiring. I always loved the sleeper Bimmer wagon...
  15. Banzai use to have them
  16. That's fine too. I have enough projects laying around...
  17. Like JSM said, start with the L28ET motor complete. It is a much better starting position and EFI is more practical. Maybe Megasquirt. Lots of work and takes plenty of money to build a motor that will last
  18. I texted him today. He says he has several people that want to come today. He said first come first serve. I will touch base later in the week and see if he has it. I can't go until Friday. I think it is very rusty so it might still be there near the end of the week...
  19. Also, 73's have a delay wiper setting. The earlier cars don't...
  20. You all are wicked!!! Considering it though...
  21. Typically what sets off the excess fuel in the exhaust is a hot point. If you have a thin piece of metal in the new exhaust that gets really hot, it might even glow, it will ignite the extra fuel like a spark plug would.
  22. Yup, this is the correct method. Heat from welding will break down the panel adhesive
  23. Read through the comments on BaT... The buyer "Latebrake" produces several car events in the California area. Sounds like he has money and is going back to his 40+ year ago memories. It's not an original car is but is nicely done and appears very clean.
