Fourth rep positive. Like a contagious virus is getting around or something...
  2. Are you sure that it will actually lock down in a backward direction?

Forgot that you had posted that. It will be doubly bad without condoms available. Another briefing coming up soon. Not going to comment anymore. Apparently Trump will be introducing his county classification system. Risk factor based.

Florida is "intercepting" people coming in to the state on certain roads. Not sure what they do then. Send them back the way they came? This is going to kill the illegal drug trade. https://www.politico.com/states/florida/story/2020/03/27/florida-expands-quarantine-to-visitors-from-louisiana-9422247

Losing sense of smell and taste is apparently a sign of COVID-19 infection. Did not know that. Another Representative tests positive.

These people might be the unluckiest of all. Cruise ship lab rats. At least they get immediate care. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-00885-w https://komonews.com/news/local/4-passengers-die-dozens-sick-on-holland-america-ship-off-panama

    Soon we'll have a surge of COVID-19 babies... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/27/global-condom-shortage-coronavirus-shuts-down-production
  9. Is the arrow in the picture correct? And the orientation while driving is as shown? And is the picture taken with the engine running? There's no fuel even at the outlet of the filter, to pass through to the carbs. You can get a bubble in the filter if it's on its side, but fuel will still get through, like Mark implies, if the filter outlet is covered. The carb's float bowls will fill until the float valve seals. Try to separate your filter problem from the running problem. They might not be related.
  10. Are The Creatures from Canada? Scary. Here's some old Canada. CSNY is good too. Fractured times. It's all good.

This video is uplifting, at 27:50, and 23:00. It's Cuomo, but it's just his personal opinion. The web site is the one that I found when i searched his name and the briefing date. I saw it this morning. He has daughters. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/videos/news/politics/albany/2020/03/26/coronavirus-new-york-gov-andrew-cuomos-march-26-briefing/2917523001/

Bill Gates is talking on CNN. Seems rational. Good to see the billionaires getting involved. Although, why didn't he do something sooner? Here's their Foundation page. https://www.gatesfoundation.org/TheOptimist/coronavirus https://www.gatesnotes.com/Health/How-to-respond-to-COVID-19

This article, below, is interesting, and at first glance it seems political. But it's not about sides, it's about process. There are still problems ahead for the big $2T bill. It might get delayed even longer. Sorry, but this might be ulcerative. The big bill has passed the Senate. Now the House has to vote on it. But, apparently, a very few individuals, on both sides, want to have their votes recorded. So they might delay passage by calling for a roll call. Which would mean many of these older in-danger Representatives would have to travel to Washington to place their vote. There is also interesting info about the bill itself in the article. Like the fact that localities with fewer than 500,000 people will not get any money. I'm not even sure really what that means. Apparently if you live in a small community that's labeled that way you are on your own, no money. And, also, one Representative has been hospitalized with COVID-19. They need to get things done. Apologies for not sticking rigorously to COVID-19. This seems worth sharing though. I have learned more about the political process in the USA in the last two years than I ever wanted to know. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/03/26/nancy-pelosi-coronavirus-package-150815

You have a valid point. I've already edited the one post of mine that was "too much" so to speak, but that was 5 minutes after I posted it. And, as someone has already pointed out, this is no different than the Boobs thread. Nobody has to read the posts or reply. We're all adults. The politics have already been played out anyway, they're very clear. The use of the "Guidelines" seems a little disingenuous. I don't think that AV8, or anyone, needs protection. Good luck. Let's get back to COVID-19, and what to do about it. My little town is really shut-down. People have apparently realized the seriousness. The downside is that everyone seem so sad. Not a smile anywhere, even avoiding eye contact. Like we're all diseased. p.s. I just remembered that I started this thread because the topic was filling up AV8's Hitachi thread. Sorry that people's opinions have diverged since then but that's life...
  15. Smear some white paint over those castings and the numbers and letters will show up. Or rub with some sandpaper and the high spots will shine. Pretty sure I see and S and an H and a 6.

I found a site that is apparently compiling test data and reporting it by state. Just numbers. https://covidtracking.com/data/

Here's a suggestion - anyone who posts in this thread, please make sure that nothing inflammatory shows up on the main page, in the first few sentences. Many of us feel compelled to open a thread based on what we see on the main page. So, add a bunch of empty lines to drop your comments below grade. I'm serious. I don't want to cause anyone distress, but this is the best place for me, personally,. to talk about these things. Maybe Mike could add a second sign-up procedure? I don't know. But, in the interest of freedom of thought and expression, I don't think that the thread should be shut down because just 2 or 3 people are bothered. That's a bit ironic, I think, but that seems to be what's happening here. Out of sight, out of mind. Good luck. Let people talk. If you can't convince people to change their minds then move on to other discussions.
  18. Picture? The common ones have casting numbers on them.

Sorry to see you go AV8. Nobody has to expose their beliefs on the internet though. That is personal choice. It might not be clear, but I, persoanlly, haven't picked a political side. I spend my time pointing out the failings of the person in the top office. Not because of his party, of which he actually does not belong. but because of who he is and how he is failing. That's not political. That, from what I have seen and experienced, is the main problem with politics in any discussion. People think that they have to defend everything that their "side" supposedly stands for. They don't. A person can choose parts of a platform, or all of it, or create their own concerns and see how a party addresses those. A word that is often used today is "tribalism". Individuals choose their group over their own thoughts. They look to the leader of the tribe for guidance. That's not how politics is supposed to work, in a democracy. Each individual is supposed to develop their own thoughts and vote accordingly. The "party" is just a concept that doesn't really work well. People have had concerns about the two party system for many years, because it is inherently divisive.

Another press briefing is coming up very soon. Lots of disagreement from the Governors. Will be informative to see how he handles it. I assume that $2T bill will be signed. Much to talk about there. Hope he gets to it. No change. He's the same guy. Petty. His first few comments included something about a Governor raising his voice in a meeting today. Apparently it was Jay Inslee, who he called a "snake" a few days ago. He just can't get past "me". Trump has to get his campaign speech in before he lets the experts speak. Sad. Sleepy Joe, etc.
  21. "No Worries Distributor Mounting Plate". "Mistake-Be-Gone" "Doesn't Matter Mounting Plate." It's not really a shim, is it?
  22. Not a video but a math puzzle. And a lesson about the "media". And a neat story. Anyone? https://www.theguardian.com/science/2020/mar/26/spring-heeled-concept-that-could-see-usain-bolt-rocket-to-50mph "A wearable spring-based contraption that attaches to the legs has the potential to boost human running speeds by 50%, according to researchers who hope to build the first prototype over the next year. ...... if Usain Bolt mastered the contraption, his top speed would rocket from 27.8mph to nearly 50mph."

@motorman7 I've realized, as I pointed out above, that your real beef is with Johns Hopkins. They're well known as experts too, so us laypeople just have to choose among the experts. If you can find a better graphical representation of what's happening that would be great. Just like weather forecasts, they might not be perfect but they're a start. Something to think about.
  24. A stamp should work. Even an ink stamp. There's some good inks out there that will hold up. And the stamped side would be the obvious "up" side.
