  1. I would suggest looking into an escrow service to handle the overseas transaction. http://pages.ebay.com/help/pay/escrow.html I'm sure there is a fee involved, but both parties would be protected and have peace of mind.
  2. Congratulations on the sale. I've bought and sold cars over long distances before and the process you described above is pretty normal in my experience. I would at least request a good faith deposit from the buyer and have it written into the bill of sale along with title released upon remaining balance received by wire transfer. Out of curiosity, what is the feedback score of the seller and has the seller purchased large ticket items in the past? Will the car be shipped? The transaction should go smoothly unless you sold the car to a Nigerian prince
  3. I purchased a pair as well, but haven't mounted them yet. Nice to know the installation will be simple and straightforward
  4. Yeah, last year was a mess. Unlike previous shows, the street in front of the shop was not blocked off. My understanding this was to avoid paying the city for the approval to do so. It made for an event where you had to search behind back streets and alleys to view the Z Cars on display. I also noticed a lot less vendors than past years.
  5. Note to self: Keep Elon Musk away from my 240Z.
  6. The adhesive on decals will breakdown over time and might be a cause of peeling. A quick fix is to apply clear nail polish to the edges of decals right after you apply them. My plan is to apply the decals, then spray the air cleaner box with clear to seal everything in place. Speaking of air boxes, Mike at Banzai Motorworks is again selling orange air cleaner paint in aerosol cans. I just bought some a couple of weeks ago.
  7. When searching the archives for information, I still find posts from Carl Stahlnecker (a.k.a. Bambikiller), who left us almost 10 years ago. He's another member from the "good old days" of this forum I still miss to this day
  8. Here's an older thread on the subject: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/33596-original-battery/
  9. It's starting to sound like your frame was damaged at one time. If I were in your situation, I'd take the car to a bodyshop that specializes in frame alignment. That way, you aren't chasing your tail and and actually known what you're up against.
  10. This post might solve your problem: http://www.zcar.com/forum/855418-post9.html
  11. Be careful what you wish for. The appreciation will be a double-edged sword making NOS and used parts spike in price due to rampant speculation.
  12. Without knowing the condition and history of the vehicle how can anyone give you its value?
  13. I've been using AdFenderTM for about a year and it's been working well against a majority of internet ads.
  14. Here's an old thread on the car: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/50351-1970-240z-for-sale-stunning-restoration/
  15. I'm pretty sure a Western Union wire transfer to the Bank of Nigeria is part of the sale.

I'm with psdenno...most likely a replacement antenna switch used for a period radio/cassette tape deck. Unless you have have mounting brackets on the fenders for machine guns
  17. I'm not dealing with rust, but more with grease. I purchased a HFT untrasonic clearner and it works pretty well. As for tumbler media, I suggest a visit to the Eastwood.com website and searching on green or brown plastic media. Lots of good info along with customer reviews.
  18. The thread below seems to imply that fixing it would be difficult. http://www.djchat.com/showthread.php/57023-Un-warping-particle-board I had a damaged spare tire cover and opted to ordering a replacement from MSA for about $40.00.
  19. A mint and low mileage 1994-95 MR2 in Steel Mist Grey would be on top of my list. I had a Red 1993 that I regret selling
  20. Truly stunning. I would have to enlarge my living room and install a rotating stand in which to display it on
  21. Intreresting to see the front and rear bumper guards painted the same color as the car.
  22. I've had good results repairing plastic air ducts in the engine bay using screen door material as a backing along with a mixture of Shoo Goo and POR15 thinner to make spreading easier. I plan to use the same technique on any plastic interior panels with may need the same attention.
  23. As a California resident for over two decades, it baffles me how the state's priorities are so out of whack. Gov. Brown wants to build a high-speed rail that is so over budget, it cannot turn a profit, let along make the promised time between LA to SFO of 2 hrs and 40 mins. Now impose another fee on a small minority of vehicles that shrinks as attrition and time takes it toll. The biggest problem facing the state is water, not going after old automobiles.

Most likely the owner is testing the waters and perhaps trying to capitalize on any momentum from the Z432 auction a couple of weeks ago. If the owner is serious, a good place to display it with a "For Sale" sign would be at the upcoming MSA show. Nothing like that kind of atomsphere to pray on a euphoric impulse buyer with a fat wallet
