One data point that might be useful is to use the Advanced search feature on ebay and select Completed auctions as one of your search criteria.

Flashback to the mid-'60's
Thicker steel for the body and 20 more stock horsepower. Styled steel wheels or mags with fatter, lower profile tires to finish it off.

Arne answers questions.
Best wishes and hope you drop in more often than I do to check on things. If you decide to go with a 2nd Generation MR2 or 1988 Honda Magna, I may see you on another forum

The most expensive Z ever offered for sale....$300,000?
Interesting car, but IMHO a 30K price range would be more realistic. A Datsun Z Car with a V-8 is not in the same collector/price category as a say a Boss 429 or Hemi Cuda.

where to find plugs for these ports on crossover tube
Tracking down a European E41 balance tube would make a clean set up.

Looking for stock exhaust system
you might want to try Courtesy Parts in Texas. http://www.courtesyparts.com/ I was able to purchase a complete NOS exhaust system from the manifold back. Albeit that was a couple of years ago.

Fastest Car You Have Ridden In?
1968 Shelby GT500KR convertable on the H-2 freeway on the Island of Oahu. Top down, of course. 2003 Corvette Z06. We hit about 160 mph on California Hwy1 before we had to slow down to take our exit.

exterior taillight trim piece plastic rivits?
The original rear panel rivets are plastic. Most likely, the previous owner removed and replaced the panel and opted to go with aluminum pop rivets.

exterior taillight trim piece plastic rivits?
You still might be able to order them. The rivets pictured on top are the for the taillight panel, and the one below are your standard interior rivets.

23k mile 1972 in Seattle area
I might be in the minority here, but I believe the mileage stated is accurate, given what the photos show. The original braided upper radiator would an item that would most not likely survive on a vehicle was driven 123,XXX miles and nearly 40 years of age. Not to mention the original radiator clamps.

Z Car Club of Colorado
Being a former club member from way back in the early 1990's, while stationed at the late Lowry AFB, it puts a smile on my face to know this organization is still going strong. Here's a blast from the past. My Z is the green one.

How to clean the console
Yup, SEM trim black would work too. If you can, please post before and after pictures when you're done. I'm sure this won't be the last time the topic is going to pop up.

How to clean the console
The best method I found to restore a badly sun-damaged console was to remove it carefully out of the car. Then give it a good scrubbing with a soapy solution. Let it dry for a couple of days and finally spray it with something like Krylon satin clear acrylic.

Early front bumper question.....
Hello, You should only have two bumper brackets (one for each side). Hope this photo helps:

Replacement seat covers-QUALITY??
Here's part of a thread that I contributed to over four years ago (where has the time gone!) showing a comparison to DI seat kits compared to the my orginal seats. As you can see, the grain pattern on the sides of the aftermarket ones are not a deep as the original. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showpost.php?p=128080&postcount=5

Leather steering wheel cover recommendation?
My 1993 Toyota MR2's steering wheel leather was cracking. I sent it in to American Stitches back in Feb 2005, and had it recovered for $279.00. Sounds like a lot, but the quality of their work was worth it...IMHO. The steering wheel is still holding up great today.

Finding info on original owner!
Tom, I did a Google search and came accross an XML file on this VIN that stated the following: 1970 HLS30-02126 Now L28 03-70 Now 5 Spd 905 Red Black Purchased late 1983 from PierreZ, refresh in 2000....many upgrades and mods, weekend toy! Have you tried contacting Pierre Z and asked if they have any old records on your vehicle? http://www.pierrezcar.com/contact.html

Removing 240Z Steering Wheel
When I took mine off years ago it required a shot of WD-40 and pulling the wheel toward me while rocking it side-to-side.
