  1. Hi Zed Head - You started this thread on 11/5/20 with a list of cars from BAT. The last car on that list was what I referenced as being in my shop. It was on BAT 2/2/21 Hershey is the big east coast AACA event and it is indeed large. However, unless you wish to linger over every car there you can see most of it in a day. Of course, if you want to attend the show AND flea market AND car corral 2 long days are required. My girlfriend is into brass era cars and every year, those years when the weather is good, there are no less than 50 brass era cars in attendance. Also, there are always a number of attendees dressed in period clothes, very fun. To us the highlight is the end when the cars are required to exit the show field under their own power. The whole ball of wax is FREE. A couple of years ago Jay Leno was wandering the show field. He was very gracious and obliged those wishing to have their picture taken with him.
  2. Yeah, me too. Can't hide under those hoods forever. I love my Zs but their not all beholding. I like this forum and it's members as much as the cars especially during this mess we're in now. "Safer at home" isn't for a social person like me. It was fun for a year but now, not so much.
  3. The company name should be, lol
  4. That's how it always works. When the first generation of Z-cars got a bit old and worn, kids got ahold of them and turned them into rusty, noisy hooptys. That happens to all cars that have any performance vibe about them. But many survived without that level of violation, and they're the ones we have today. I learned at ZCON that my '83 280ZXT is one of the cleanest and most original of its generation. That feels pretty nice!

I put mine on the front differential crossmember just outside the LCA mout brackets. They allow the suspension to droop and allow removal of the majority of parts in the rear of the car.
  6. 2 points
I put mine parallel with the car where the A arms meet the frame. Fits right down in the tops of my stands and the wheels hang free.
  7. Not that I'm in any position to get a new DD right now, but I do like the new Z. I briefly considered selling the Porsche and maybe even my 280Z next year to help offset the cost of the new Z. But then I noticed that I see a heck of a lot of 370Z's in my area and every one of them is ratty with mismatched body panels, slammed ride height and stupid loud exhaust with a punk kid driving. It will take time, but I see the new Z getting the same treatment and that's not my vibe. After all the S13's and S14's were ruined, the same people started buying up the Z33's and Z34's. I think I'll keep my 996 and my S30.
  8. Got a pretty 61 Catalina at the shop the other day. Beautiful original paint. My pics don’t really do it justice Bit dusty but looks better than modern CC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Almost like he was using it as a dry run for a BAT auction.
  10. View Advert 1971 240z round tops Would anyone be interested in these. Pulled them off my 1971 240z. Not sure what to ask for them but think they are upgrades to some later model su’s. feel free to pm if interested. Advertiser Dcreech0 Date 09/11/2021 Price $150 Category Parts for Sale
  11. The Beru cap that came with the distributor lasted almost 2 days without losing the center diode. Luckily for me, the car wasn't running when it happened. I was re-installing it after cleaning up the install when it popped out while attaching the coil lead. The Bremi cap arrived later in the day(a whole 2 days early). I installed it and went for a 30 mile drive. No problems. Smooth as butter. It's already been said, but I'll say it again..Don't trust the cap that comes with the 123 ignition distributor. The distributor works great tough. The BREMI cap # 8017p is readily available stateside and is $20.00 on amazon..and has at least put up with 30 miles haha.
  12. Yes this was most helpful. Save yourself the trouble and don't read past post #8. I used copper sealer on a Victor Reinz intake/exhaust manifold gasket and wrote a 1200 word dissertation about it haha. My friend and I were making our own jalapeno vodka in those days.
  13. Where in AZ are you located? You can borrow mine.
  14. I know right? Who judges the judges? I guess they do their best in the circumstances, but... Oh, and you downgraded me. I'm not an HS Standard, I'm an HS Deluxe Grande Nose... 😉
  15. Where's my .02$ in a good thread of @Reptoid Overlords. Captains EGR theory is in post #3.
  16. Hershey, Pennsylvania. I first read about it 30 or so years ago, and have wanted to go ever since.
  17. Understandable, it's an east coast thing, an amazingly huge spectacle. It would take 2-3 days just to give everything a quick glance, kind of a pilgrimage.
  18. Indeed. One of the people big-upping and sucking up to 'The Guild' (LOL) on the current BAT '69 HLS30U auction owns a car which has a bodyshell made out of at least three different cars welded together, but which - inexplicably - seems to have been given an award at ZCon 2021 Colorado. You've heard of the Rumble In The Jungle, but here's the Con At The Con...
  19. Hershey https://hershey.aaca.com/eastern-division-fall-meet/
  20. looks cool in the pictures but that things indeed needs a complete restoration
  21. Zed Head, the last car on your list, the 72 with American Racing wheels, ,is in my shop getting ready for Hershey.
  22. Patcon is correct. The 'inner fender' (which you might see as being the engine compartment side wall) forms the fourth side of the box. Thar inner fender panel has a horizontal flange along its bottom edge. For its part, the 'frame rail' has a vertical flange along its top surface. The frame rail is joined to the inner fender by two rows of spot welds: the first along the horizontal flange and the second along the vertical flange. I agree that it can be a head-scratcher until you stop and stare at the details.
  23. I wonder if that Auction Site knows they got played? A Reserve above $105K - lol
  24. On a budget? I'll bet these'll do https://www.ebay.com/itm/124681185423?hash=item1d0793e88f:g:JnAAAOSwSthgd1eM Or be the envy of your social circle https://store.jenvey.co.uk/throttle-body-kits/nissan/nissan-datsun-cknn03-1
  25. I was wondering the same. The comments indicates that the seller was not very cooperative. Maybe not the right word, but he definitely was not making much of an effort.
  26. Did a 90 mile drive with the Highlands Mountain Motoring group. Met Some great folks and another Z junky!
  27. 391 is on BAT. Says No Reserve. Needs a resto. Some surprising small problems. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1970-datsun-240z-74/
  28. Wow, that is almost a perfectly square, unbroken block of letters. It fills up all of my computer screen. Kind of neat to look at, but it also looks like about three meals on one plate. Could take time to consume before you get some feedback. Just an aside...
