So i just got a 240z last week, always loved them now finally a chance to own one. i have been doing very well fixing her up but one thing has me stumped. When the car is running the carbs both appear to work fine, but once the engine is shut off, the front carb begins to pour out fuel from the opening where the air filter would normally go, this continues for a good 15 to 30 seconds after the engine is shut off. any ideas???

hello i have the same problem as posted by another member, it sounds exactly the same, but another member told me my solution is probably different because mine is not fuel injected, i drive the car and when i go about 40, the car just shuts off, like someone just turned the key on me, the car will fire right back up when i go to re start it, as if nothing happened, then it will happen again.

76' 280z...I've been having a problem with lack of power/stumble/hesitation on acceleration. I've checked and adjusted; TPS, timing, vacuum advance, vacuum lines/hoses, clean spark to all plugs (new NGK's), new fuel pump (replaced for the sake of replacing it, not just to throw money at the problem!), flushed fuel lines, new fuel/oil filter, oil change, I checked and rechecked fuel pressure at the fuel rail…I real don't know what else to go through… The car was running yesterday, I wake up this morning and try to start it..nothing! It cranks and sounds strong like it is JUST about to turn over, but it never gets that far. So I tried to crank it a few more times. On th…

my motor hasnt been in for more than 1000 miles and I have a exhaust leak. I think it might have been from running it with the glass packs and no hangers. now i have hangers on and Im going to pull the header off to redo the gasket but I don't want to do it again any time soon. it's a clifford header i think? the guy I got it from said to use a big block chevy gasket? anyone know what he might be talking about? any input would be great

I have a question about Braided Hoses on a 240. It seems that most of the 240s that were stock had braided hoses only on the heater hoses, smog hoses, the brake vac hoses and the rad hoses. The rest including all the carb bypass hoses were regular rubber ones. Was this from the factory this way? or was EVERY hose under the hood braided? Thanks! Polecat

Previous owner seems to have screwed up the starter/Battery wiring. The - cable from the battery is grounded to the chassis but there is another place for it to ground but I can't see where. The cable has 2 lugs.
