4,900 original miles
I hope somebody does spend that amount of money for the car. Every time a classic Z sells for an outlandish amount, insurance companys, car collectors and appraisers take notice. This is how Hagertys determines the value of some "other" classics. The more someone can get for their car, the better we all are as it tends to increase the value of our Z's. Pricey yes, but I like to see Z's going (or at least trying) to sell for that amount. Vicky

can you spot the "mistake"???
Yeah xray, what is the mistake(s) that you are getting at? Vicky

Ripped off?
What about some type of "Photo Encryption"? Do they even make software that does this? Vicky

can you spot the "mistake"???
The "hold down" brackets look funky. My 72 has them up underneath the car. The ones on the back are on the body/bumber(?). I know alot of dealers removed them once the car was put on the lot. The ones on the back are what really stump me. They look like cheap hooks. Vicky

N.A.D.A. (Zed's value)
Wonder why the HIGH value of the 71 & 72 is more than the 70. I always thought that the 70 was considered the true classic (so far) amongst the 240Z's. NADA is not the guide that true car collectors go by in determining the value of a collectable vehicle anyway. There is this book that a friend had that showed a cars value by whether it was a #1 #2 #3 and so on. Does anyone remember the name of this book? Vicky

Long Term Parking Brake Use
While my husband gets his joys out of his 77 280Z the 72 240Z has been sitting for quite a while. It's parked in neutral with the e-brake on. Now when I go to move the car it tends to hesitate after releasing the e-brake. Do you think it's best to leave the car parked in neutral with the e-brake off and just put something behind/front of the tires. Also, is it true that it's not a good idea to leave any car in gear when it's parked for a while? Heard this can stress the tranny. Opinions, suggestions, comments. Vicky

RB30-ZED's sweet ride #3
What a great photo! Beautiful red Z against a lush green landscape. That photo should be framed and hanging in your living room. Looks like an ad for Datsun. Fantastic

Random Q: what's hotter leather or vinyl?
I would think that vinyl would be hotter. Leather is more porous and would allow for air circulation within the material. Vicky

What I did Labor day weekend.
This Labor Day weekend I prayed I wouldn't lose my house, my life or my Zed's. Never lost any power but it was like being in a coffin with all the windows boarded up. Funny, just the previous weekend we were at a car show under beautiful sunny skys and I got fried from the sun. Anybody in southern Arizona want to trade houses? Vicky

Charley's Comming
We haven't lost power at all. The wind has been about 35 to 45 mph with a few gusts at maybe 60 mph. Raining all day also. Few minor twigs down from the trees. I hear ya there seerex on Ivan. He's suppose to be getting near Fla by next weekend or so. I believe hurricane season runs until November 30th  Who's all ready to move to Arizona............I know I am. Be safe Florida members Vicky

vinyl top?
When I think of a vinyl top, I pictue the 1977 Ford T-Bird. A Z with a vinyl top, half or whole, is like a Z with power windows............It just ain't right! Vicky

RIP Indian Larry
...and also riding a horse drunk, that will cost you a dui also in Fla. Vicky

RIP Indian Larry
Never understood why we must wear our seat belts but bikers can go without a helmet. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Plus they can run open exhaust and we must have mufflers. That last sentence was a little extreme but still some of those bikes are LOUD as hell. RIP Indian Larry  Vicky

"Style" question
For bare bones looks, I think the "Spook" is the way to go on the 240Z. If you aren't going to radically modify the car, then this front spoiler looks classy. I don't have any pictures but I'm sure another member could provide a photo. Vicky

Charley's Comming
Saturday we'll spend the morning boarding up the windows........again. I'm ready to move to Arizona. That's a relatively safe state no? Poor kinfish, I think he's in Jupiter Fla right on the central east coast. Take care Florida members Vicky

Just bought a factory restored 72 240Z!
Beautiful car, however I don't see any stickers in the quarter glass. Maybe the previous owner took them off. The radio looks after-market and what's that red band on the shifter? Still looks to be a nice Z. Vicky

ZXT intake questions...
Hi Kyle Unrelated to your post but I gotta ask........What's the color of the Z in your avatar? Man, that's a nice looking car. Vicky

240Z in movies
Funny, when I'm watching a movie or TV show from the 70's, I find myself loosing track of the show just to spot a Z car. I yell for my husband, "Scott come here, I just saw a Z". Then we sit there for the next hour or so trying to see the Z again. :cheeky: Vicky

JGTC Racing
I've just recently started to see a few programs dedicated to this type of Japanese racing called "JGTC". I heard that this Japanese racing will be making it's US debut at the California Speedway on December 18th & 19th of this year. Along with other auto manufacturers, the big three are Nissan with the 350Z, Toyota with the Supra and Honda with their top of the line race car, don't know the name, NRX (?). Anyway, I know we don't dicuss the 350Z here but from what I been watching that's the car to beat. Anyone know more about this type to Japanese racing that's soon to come to America. I'm very interested and would love to know more. Vicky
