  2. Anyone that watched the show, was it worth it? Was it 30 minutes of the '04 MSA show or various other auto related events? Any members cars shown on TV? Do tell please. Vicky

  4. Pics worked for me. Way to much flaring in the front. I guess you could use it to sweep the streets of trash after a parade or something Vicky
  5. I have e-mailed Dish Network and asked why we don't get that channel but Direct TV does? See what kind (if any) response I get. Vicky
  6. The 60's era Mustang.........probably one of the only cars that's more prone to rust then our Z's.
  7. Dammit, I have Dish Network  Vicky
  8. I just can't picture 4 people in a Z, let alone someone sitting behind me in a Z. I quess if I wanted a 4 seater sports car I'd choose the 2+2. Just looks so long. Vicky
  9. :cheeky: Vicky
  10. Welcome and congrats on your purchase. Wow, $500 for your Z, looks like you got a good deal. The Aussie members on this site know an awful lot about the 260Z. Again welcome :classic: Vicky
  11. The "scissor" doors where the only option for the Lamborghinis' as these cars have one of the longest doors on modern automobiles. If the lambos had traditional doors and someone parked next to the car, you wouldn't be able to open the door. I watched a program on the history of lambos. The doors just happen to look cool but function was the main design. Vicky
  12. Exactly!!!! :classic: Vicky
  13. The Decca Door rep was at a car show and the car he was displaying was a Brickyard 350Z. I thought the Lambo doors was quite an improvement on the 350Z. Actually looked pretty darn good. Check out the door space and shape on the 350Z compared to our old Z's and you can see why it's very hard to fabricate (if at all) that mod for our Z's. Vicky
  14. Well I can tell you that we were going to do this conversion on the 77 280Z. The company here in Clearwater Florida that does that is called Decca Doors. It was going to cost almost 2K to do them on an early Z. We were going to let them mock up the brackets on a 78 280Z that we were going to junk. (No test trys on the 77 just incase it didn't work.) The custom made door hinges that go where the stock doors mount to the car were very bulky and would require alot of modification. The early Z metal in that area of the car is not strong enough alone to handle the angle of the doors let alone the added weight 25+ lbs (per bracket) of the fabricated hinges. It was determined that eventually the metal would fail and we'd have problems. Plus the fenders and all this other stuff would have to come off the car. This was back when the Lambo doors were all the rage so things might have improved as far a fabrication for an early Z. But my husband wasn't going to start tearing his car apart after all the money he put into the paint job. No way. FWIW Vicky
  15. Stephen A few years back the actual yellow registration form listed the color of the vehicle. Now when your renewal comes in the mail it has the color listed (which you must change it if your car has been painted). The new cheapo form we Floridians carry in our cars does not have the color but the cops computer lists what color the vehicle should be. (Because your suppose to list any changes on the renewal form). O T again, sorry  Vicky
  16. Have a friend that has a Z32 painted with that cameleon (spelling?) or Flip Flop paint by Dupont. He was pulled over and the cop gave him a ticket because the registration did not list the color of the car. Don't see to many of those paint jobs anymore around here due to that very problem...I guess. (Sorry to have drifted O T but just wanted to mention that) Vicky

...they would fill up with mud LMAO Good one Rick Vicky
  18. That's been going around a few of the other Z sites. I love the Lambo one "Wind noise around 210mph". I suspect that could down right be true Vicky
  19. If not insane, it would be quite funny. Just don't smile.......you'll get bugs in your teeth. Reminds me of a time I was in Frostproof Florida and I saw an old 60's era Cadillac Fleetwood driving down the interstate with NO TIRES, just rims. I figured the rednecks had to go get their Bush Beer and Dorals and not having any tires on their car wasn't going to stop them. Vicky

James Are you trying motorsport@sbcglobal.net I do believe you can get a direct answer from Greg, the owner, via that e-mail if you direct the problem/question to him. I've e-mailed him before and always received a response that same day. He's a good guy. Best of Luck Vicky
  21. OK after calling numerous Z vendors, closer to Fla, for an air pump (pulley bearing shot, what a terribly embarassing noise) for my 72 and finding none in stock, I call MSA and they have one left. Ordered it at 5:00 pm on Wednesday (10/6) and I received it Saturday (10/9) at 9:30 am. It was shipped regular ground form Cali to Fla for $7.00. Now that's what I call exceptional service. I know not everyone here likes MSA but they have always come through in the clutch for us. The 240Z is now back to being silent but deadly :devious: Vicky
  22. Old tires heated up the street can cause tread separation, no? If there were any minor cracks, could that not lead to a failure of the tire after such extreme driving? The purchase of the BF Goodrich T/A Radials was a great choice ezzzzzzz! Vicky
