  1. Wow. Wish I would have know about them yesterday. Called all my known Z vendors for an Air Pump for the 72. No body had one so I had to call MSA. Got the very last one they had. Maybe this guy could replace Midwest Z.....no? Vicky
  2. Then Datsun decided on the massive crash bumpers for the 280Z's so they could just ram the pedestrians right out of the way. :stupid: Vicky
  3. My husbands car has the adjustable (G-Machine) rear toe. He explained the whole thing to me this morning, the bushings, how he can adjust, etc. Sorry Tom, to sound as if I've been smoking something. I'm just trying to lean all I can about the stock version, preferably my 72 240Z. I have nothing to compare the '72 240Z to since the '77 280Z is so heavily modified. (Thanks for the transverse link picture Carl) Vicky
  4. A rear tire out of alignment could be blown strut, no? What about camber adjustment, doesn't that correct toe in and out. That's if you have adjustable struts I'm guessing. Anyone have a picture of a transverse link? I'd like to see that. Vicky
  5. I noticed this when the engine was out of my husbands 77 280Z. Man, what a "tall" engine. Looks taller then a SB V-8, and I'm including the oil pan. Anyone ever measured the complete height of the inline 6 and compared it to a SB V-8? Betcha we're pretty close. Vicky

So we finally have a weekend here in Fla without a hurricane. I decide to take the 240Z out for a run. The 240Z tends to sleep alot in the garage so I yell at her, "wake up, we're going for a spin". Thinking she wouldn't start because her rebel sister (77 280Z) seems to get all the attention lately, I was quite suprised when she fired right up. I pull out of my subdivision and give her a run through the gears. I think I'm cruisin' at 65 or so, look at the speedo we're pushing 90+!!! In the far off distance I see one of Florida's finest comming up on my tail. I quickly slow to the proper speed of 55 and think, Oh (fill in word of choice here) I'm busted. He gets right on my tail then pulls around and smiles and passes me. Guess he wanted to see what this bright yellow car was. Talk about a close call!! Just thought I'd share some of my "Z-Joy" I had this weekend Vicky
  7. I disagree on that. The 280ZX yes, but the 280Z is not a luxury sports car by any means. Compare the 78 to the 79, then you'll see what luxury, for that era, is. Vicky
  8. It's been over a year. Can he even file? Isn't there some kind of limitation on that? Vicky
  9. I was wondering if anyone would "catch my drift" on that. The e-brake is in the direct middle so simple earthlings would not get in an uproar over the design. Vicky
  10. Oh yes Stephen, they are not forgotten. They are parked in the back of my dream garage next to my Daytona Charger with the massive wing on the back.......remember those and the funky colors they came in? Vicky
  11. I would only use PPG paint on my cars. My 77 has a 3 stage Cinamon Candy Apple Red. Of couse it all comes down to one's opinion and how much you want to pay. In the car show circles, at least around here in Florida, PPG is #1. (It also takes a knowledgable body shop to shoot the paint) Vicky
  12. Nice!! I bet he was intimidated by your Z. You ever wonder if "those" types of car guys drool over our little Z cars? Do you think they say "Wow, listen to the sound of that inline 6". Probably not, but it would be nice. Most of the motor heads I know have a deep respect for the Z but not to many will tell you to your face. Oh well, their loss. Vicky
  13. Tom, we lust alike. My other "wish I had one" car is an original Boss 429. I just don't have an extra 120K laying around. Vicky
  14. I've heard that the 240Z was one of the top 10 most influential cars of all time. Vicky
  15. Hey Will the only reason I know this is because the Millenium Faulken was RHD, so it was designed for the european market as opposed to the Millenium Falcon which is LHD. hehehe Vicky
  16. That would be the German version. The American version was the Millenium Falcon. Vicky
  17. Buy it Stephen, buy it!!! The wife won't mind. Vicky
  18. Yikes, your avatar scares me Vicky
  19. Always nice to see the young bloods getting into a car almost twice their age. Restore 'em, rebuild 'em and run 'em against the honda and mitsubishi kids. The original Japanese sports car........they will be impressed and intimidated. Good luck and welcome Vicky
  20. Inspirational? How about InZane! I don't think I would have the strength to write the checks again for a project like that. I had to have hand surgery after the car was done....loss of feeling due to constant pressure of an ink pen against checks Vicky
  21. We won't even go there on the Red Z. When the car was completed and ready to be insured, I added up every single receipt for documentation purposes. I'm to embarassed to say how much is in that car Vicky

  23. Yes, welcome........and oh yeah, nice 280Z you have there. Vicky
  24. This is why my husband doesn't let me do anything on the car.........it would be destroyed Vicky
