  1. The 240Z caliper and the Girling caliper is very close. The TR6 uses two different pads. Early and late series. I should not have said the same pad. May not be exact.. You may have to do some trimming. I need to check further. I sold my TR6 36 years ago.
  2. Like I said before, if that were a 356, yours would be worth about 40K or more as it sits! Maybe some day. http://www.ebay.com/itm/252347220006?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  3. Yes, I have used the SEM Napa red on my red interior vinyl. It looks to be a perfect match. Good stuff.
  4. Ferodo used to have them. I had Ferodo in my own 240Z. The 240Z and the Triumph TR6 take the same brake pad. Maybe they have discontinued that particular pad.
  5. Ron Carter with the BRE Z? I didn't know he sold it. I did see a car show photo of another person with one that looked like his.
  6. What I thought too. The bolts do have a flat on the bolt head as if it had a washer. I am going to install the new cam and torque down as is.
  7. Neither of my cyl. heads have washers under the cam tower bolts as shown below. Noticed while assembling mine. Do any of your cyl. heads have these washers?
  8. You will want to find out from supplier if you need the taper lug nuts or the 'Bulge' type nuts. My Konig wheels needs the Bulge style.

3000K warm white is not natural daylight color. Natural daylight color is 5000-5500K. I sell it.

I do not think any lives have been lost to dash light color. All the USAF fighters I worked on had red cockpit lighting. This was to aid the pilot's night vision outside the aircraft. On you car you have headlights at night to see where you are going. Unless you like to drive with them off.
  11. I thought the 78 Z came with the black ones. Or is this for the GTO conversion you built or building?
  12. Just curious, what brand are you using for springs and retainers? The lashpads seem to sit pretty high. I only had experience with stock and Isky retainers so far. I just bought the Schneiter springs and retainers but not installed yet. On the Isky retainers we found just the opposite. Lashpads sat too deep.
  13. Good idea. I think I will go that way. Thanks!!
  14. I was not sure what manifold gasket to use with this ported E31 head. So I laid the old Felpro N42 to overlay on the E31. I think another new N42 gasket will be just fine. Now I can keep moving ahead.
  15. Plus on my 72Z I never had factory carpeting under my seats like that shown. Only jute.
  16. I am hungry for for Chinese now that you mention it!
  17. Great. Thanks. Here is the head.
  18. No condoms supplied. May have to do the straw method. Stock seals with .460 lift cam. Thanks!
  19. I am putting new valve seals on and just want to ask the preferred method. One thing I have never changed out. Just don't want to damage them. Then the SS valves and new springs.
  20. It sure is a beauty. Your valve train was way worse than I ever expected. Good idea going with the new replacements. No wonder it was so noisy.
  21. This is the block side with the head gasket still on. Its no big deal I guess. This L28 engine came from a 75 automatic and no clue on the mileage. Should rebuild it but thats not in the cards right now. I have a E31 modified with larger SS 280 valves. I am going to put this on as an experiment as you don't see it done too much on a dish pistons. Still will not have even 9.0 to 1 CR. Schneider ground my cam for this set up. It is shipped and should have this week. Maybe I can get a photo of the E31 head posted too.
  22. Now that you mention that I did remove the head bolts last November and did not get back on it until last week. I will post the block photo.
  23. I was getting a small of coolant loss and and found some evidence here pictured. Does it look like to anyone here this may have been leaking into either no. 1 or 2 cylinder? I have a rebuilt E31 going back on as a replacement. I will eventually rebuild this N42 head.
  24. With mine, I am running a 4:11 diff ratio with the 78 - 5 speed. I am using 205/60-15 to give me the oem tire diameter. While it is fun around town, on the highway in 5th it just feels like it wants another gear shift. With my set up I may look for a 3.70 diff.
  25. If those were original lash pads they were shot from wear ages ago. New pads likely would have been enough.. I never would have spent the money on rocker arms until I tried the new pads first. But nothing wrong with what you did. Except if you are doing all that then upgrade that old worn out camshaft with a modern regrind and new pads. IMO.
