  1. What’s the problem you’re having?
  2. I had mentioned in an earlier post to seek out @zclocks. He has been a consistent contributor to the forum and welcome to questions and advice.
  3. Personally on my 78 280, If I rested those stands there it would not be pretty. I rest my stands on the very front of the rail at the weld joint.

$25,500 For instance, Less fees. Not a chance IMHO. Sell it privately to someone that’s going to preserve it.
  6. Where did you take the alternator to be tested? If you don’t have someone at a parts store that’s competent on testing you might want to go to a local Napa store or an establishment that has a machine shop. Counter people look at a screen and most don’t have experience on working on vehicles. My HO. Ok I vented. Wish luck friend.
  7. The alternator test at the parts store?
  8. By chance did you try a cleaner and spray able grease before you removed it. Trying to understand the process you went with.

  16. Bottom line that’s not the way the engine was designed unless he thinks you had a defective thermostat.
  17. Sounds like it worked out in your favor after all.
  18. Have you heard of @zclocks on this site. He’s pretty much the expert on these clocks. I’d reach out to him and see if he will take it on.
  19. Call “Junkyard Jenny”. Pretty sure She has one. Will save you a lot of time.
  20. @Captain Obvious Very impressive analysis of the circuit. Thank the Lord I went to school for that!,
  21. Why not contact “junkyard Jenny” She probably has what you need to replace your existing mechanism. Sounds like you might need both sides. Good people.
  22. Take lots of pics for reference.
  23. Have you removed the entire mechanism and performed a deep clean along with lubricants?
