So, they didn’t Red coat the inside of the tank to seal up possible pin holes in the future?

You know as well as I do that it will make it run even hotter sucking air away from the radiator. Simple thing to check just by putting a piece of paper behind the fan. 95% of fans off the shelf are puller.

Didn’t cost anything to check the fan direction. May have wasted money on a fan clutch.

Tanks are here at there whs in the US. when I ordered mine. Not sure if that’s changed. Just took a look and the shipping is a bit higher. Wisconsin to Florida was $95 2 years ago.

@Zed Head I’m not frivolously trying to spend his money. I spent over $400 trying to have a 35 year old tank at the time to be repaired. Bottom line is these tanks develop pin holes especially around the seam of the tank. My opinion was if he wants to save money in the long run and close this particular variable this is a viable solution.

Again, S30.World Your issues will no longer exist. Had my 78 repaired and sealed twice and it still leaked through pin holes that developed with time.

I apologize for not understanding the plug gap measurement you are speaking of. Forgive my ignorance so to speak. This is the first I’ve heard of this measurement. Please educate me on this.

IIRC the plug gap should be set at 45 thousandths on your plug setting gauge.

How does that relate to 45 thousandths of an inch.

IMO just keep what the factory designed. Most members here are 240 owners and would not even consider making that change. There were multiple structural changes made in the latter years. Enjoy what you have friend.

My only response is I went through the same situation. I replaced every connection on the RFI system due to corrosion. Fix one another pops up. Including the AFM connection. It’s not fun, Takes time but worth it.

The symptoms are it was over heating. You never went back and reversed the fan blade and polarity to push air through the radiator.

I purchased one for my 78 and it’s more intricate than a 240 and it works perfectly. I’m very surprised he would say it was hit or miss.
