The 280z rod and firewall bracket usually works nicely. You may have to grind rather than cut as the shepherds-hook is hardened very well.

I read that Nissan cast manifolds are easier to weld as the alloy is more favourable than typical North American manifold alloys.

I had intermittent on ignition switch. It would not start when turned all the way (100%) to the mechanical stop when starting. If I only turned it ~80% of the way it would start. I guess the contact wiper was carboned-up at 100% but not at ~80%.

We used to heat our snowmobile plugs with a lighter to start on cold days. Heat is as important as spark.

I soldered to batteries before. Sand surface, use flux, be fast. You can cool in freezer overnight to help.

What size are the chokes? 34-35mm would be great for street. How many progression holes? This works for 2.8l, you may need more fuel at wot. 65F9 idle jets Set fuel level ~28mm For mains a 165 jet with 160 air may get you going. E-tube (other than F2) will not make a big difference.

Is the fuel bleeder on the bottom of the fuel bowl blocked?
