My Schneider. 460 lift which is considered a "stage 3" on MSA's website has the same cold adjustment numbers as factory specs, intake .008 and exhaust. 010.

That's absolutely true. My fuel rail is cool to the touch. I consider it an open system. I used a '78 fpr with one in and one out. It constantly flows fuel.

Yes, pretty much narrows it down to the rear carburetor. I'm not sure if the SUs have an idle circuit but that's what it sounds like.

I've got a few more years before I can retire so I figure I'll make them the best I can. I didn't really want to post about something so personal but now I'm glad I did. Look for cracks or jump marks on your cap. They look like small lightning bolts to me. That means it's jumping spark from center to the cap points. Not good.

I widened the gap too when I went to the ZX distributor and coil. Still the bp6es plugs though. Those newer ones with the needle looking core aren't worth a crap in my opinion. You want the most contact/strike area you can get.

There's a bcdd hole in front of the throttle blade that has to be filled or blocked to stop the ported vacuum. Here's something I found real quick. @Captain Obvious is the thinker that helped me.

I'm thinking the coolant temp sensor not being in play has your ecu thinking it's cold all the time and adding more fuel.
