  1. Yes, pretty much narrows it down to the rear carburetor. I'm not sure if the SUs have an idle circuit but that's what it sounds like.
  2. A quick google, I was looking for Tabco but they don't have anything. Good luck! https://www.google.com/search?q=datsun+280z+lower+radiator+support&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&ei=OYZPYc-qGt2awbkPxYWoqAY&oq=datsun+280z+lower+rad&gs_lcp=ChNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwEAEYATIFCCEQoAEyBQghEKABMgUIIRCgATIICCEQFhAdEB4yCAghEBYQHRAeOgQIABBHOgYIABAHEB46BQgAEM0COgQIABANOggIABANEAUQHjoFCAAQgAQ6BggAEAUQHjoICAAQBxAFEB46BAgeEAo6BwghEAoQoAE6BQghEKsCOgYIABAWEB5QlxRYu-YBYPj3AWgBcAF4AIAB0wGIAaEokgEGMi4zNi4xmAEAoAEByAEIwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp

Those dopes that have TV shows for living in Alaska need a little covid. That's what I consider ironic. They go off grid and then have a production crew around all the time.
  4. I've used futofab for parts simply because of the shipping prices. I live closer to the East coast so he saves me a good bit. But he has been very helpful as far as a gentleman that owns a business. I give him 5 stars! Would buy from him again.
  5. There's 3 kinds of jobs in my experience. 1. Wash your after the restroom. 2. Wash your hands before the restroom. 3. Wash before AND after. I've always washed mine beforehand. That's because I hated school and wound up working in the service businesses. I'm a hands on type guy that gets a good feeling helping those that can't help themselves. The pay sucks but money has never been a priority in my life. My parents always gave me a good life and i loved them for that. I'm so thankful for you guys positive comments on my ife decision to go to less stress/less money. I do not care about money. I want to sleep good.
  6. BCDD ? Maybe? https://www.google.com/search?q=bcdd+adjust+classiczcars.com+&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc&source=android-home&source=hp&ei=Wb5MYZ6mBo2Nr7wP9suXqAI&oq=bcdd+adjust+classiczcars.com+&gs_lcp=ChFtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1ocBADMgUIIRCgATIFCCEQqwIyBQghEKsCMgUIIRCrAjoCCCk6BggpEBYQHjoFCCkQgAQ6BAgpEA06DQgpEMcBEK8BEA0QkwI6CAgpEIAEELEDOgUIKRCgAToOCAAQ6gIQjwEQjAMQ5QI6DgguEIAEELEDEIMBEJMCOggIABCxAxCDAToRCC4QgAQQsQMQgwEQxwEQowI6CAgAEIAEELEDOg4ILhCABBCxAxDHARCjAjoFCC4QgAQ6BQgAEIAEOgsIABCABBCxAxCDAToICC4QsQMQgwE6CwguEIAEEMcBEKMCOgsILhCxAxDHARCjAjoOCC4QgAQQsQMQxwEQ0QM6EQguEIAEELEDEMcBEKMCEJMCOg4ILhCABBDHARCvARCTAjoECAAQCjoLCC4QgAQQxwEQrwE6CAgAEBYQChAeOgcIIRAKEKABUOiGDFjh7wxgrf4MaAFwAHgAgAGMAogB-xOSAQYwLjE1LjGYAQCgAQGwAR4&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-hp Or the tps
  7. I've got a few more years before I can retire so I figure I'll make them the best I can. I didn't really want to post about something so personal but now I'm glad I did. All the positive replies from you guys have really made me feel good about my decision. Thank you all so very much! I don't like change but y'alls support has made a huge impact on me and my decision. What a great group of friends I have here! I only hope my contributions are helpful to someone. 1 person at least and I sleep good tonight.
  8. Look for cracks or jump marks on your cap. They look like small lightning bolts to me. That means it's jumping spark from center to the cap points. Not good.
  9. I widened the gap too when I went to the ZX distributor and coil. Still the bp6es plugs though. Those newer ones with the needle looking core aren't worth a crap in my opinion. You want the most contact/strike area you can get.
  10. Nothing like Dilbert. I still need to wash my hands BEFORE I take a leak. I've gone from buying building materials to selling them. I'm a people person, love to help people, so this is a good fit for me as get older. It's a huge company, Lowes building material. I'm most excited about getting my feet wet in the "new" business model everything is going to, computers! Half my day is working on a keyboard, the other is helping customers get what they need. My years of working for a general contractor were a great help in getting the position and pay. I see me retiring from this company. All the other, co-workers, benefits and the chain of command are fantastic. I can do anything (legal) and not get fired. Being personable has cemented my position with these folks and pretty much every other aspect of my life. The Golden Rule I was taught. Not the stupid one that narcissist believe, "the man with the gold makes the rules". Don't live that lie.
  11. I've worked for 2 people, self centered narcissistic micro managers what's in it for me type for 35 years. I made a life improving decision to go to the corporate workforce and after two weeks I love it! When I leave I LEAVE. Nothing but family matters when I clock out now. They don't even know my phone number. I took a small pay cut but the nonexistent stress evens it out by way far. My beer and stress eating make up the difference plus some. Money is time don't jive anymore. How I spend my time is #1 now. So now my time is worth more than money to me as it should be to everyone else too. Smell the roses my friends.
  12. "Yup..." Classic answer from grannyknot. He's done it if it's been done.
  13. That wasn't a good choice for "The Thinker", hindsight is a bitch. Looks more like me sitting on the toilet. The "stinker".
  14. There's a bcdd hole in front of the throttle blade that has to be filled or blocked to stop the ported vacuum. Here's something I found real quick. @Captain Obvious is the thinker that helped me.
  15. Read through this and see if it answers some questions. I'm about to leave out for the night but will check back in the morning. https://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/tempsensorpot/index.html
  16. I'm thinking the coolant temp sensor not being in play has your ecu thinking it's cold all the time and adding more fuel.
  17. Sorry I can't help with the question but I sure am glad you're okay and checking in on us Bob! Cliif
  18. I guess any type of short steel would work, re-bar or a socket extension comes to mind. The female end would fit on the fin then tap it off with a hammer.
  19. there's some email addresses at the bottom of the thread starter, Paulo Sierra. https://clubsciontc.com/forums/sponsored-sales/fIeVx5TDZvSq/c12-carbon-complete-line-of-carbon-fiber-products?page=1
  20. A flat head screwdriver and a hammer worked for me. https://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/fuel/gastank/index.htm
  21. I pull the vacuum advance hose off the distributor and pug it with a golf tee. From my experience these cars run good with more advance. I have my distributor turned all the way, max advance. One off smarter members, @zKars, even made a plate allowing farther advance.
  22. EDIT: After looking over the spreadsheet I realized I told you wrong. Sorry and you'll see my mistakes if you look at the sheet. I have that timing light too. After setting the timing I mostly use it for the engine RPMs now. It puts a tach outside the cabin which is very useful when you get to fine tuning. You can also do total advance timing with it. My car has two 17 weights in the distributor so you double that to 34 then run the motor up to to 3,500rpm and the light will read 0 when it's at max advance. I have an excel spreadsheet on my laptop with all the distributors and their info. Thank you for doing that @Walter Moore I found it. Post #3.
  23. Here's a good read... And my setup with the tools and the "crossing them off" board I put under the passenger's wiper blade.
  24. It's a great ID. I love the blues! I always wanted to open a bar, yes a drunkard with his own bar, but I realized as I grew older how stupid I am. My bar would be named "Elbert Bellew's". Great looking car mr bluez. Welcome to our forum, you'll like it here. The members are super smart mostly and very friendly. We like to help! Pictures, pictures pictures... Cliff
  25. I would take it to a muffler shop that's been around awhile. They could move that over enough to get it off the rod somehow I think, my local shop would figure something out. Probably break the welds though.
