  1. I sense a disturbance in the Force.....or is it just competition in the After-Market for Euro lenses? Dennis
  2. Pointy end down. If it's the proper key, it should fit into the lock slot opening. Then, just a twist to release the lock cam. If it's too wide, or too thick, wrong key. Does it look like the one in the picture and drawing above? Dennis
  3. No disagreement there. The Z you referenced is not a typical example of the "breed", however, and I don't feel that a value generalization can be made that would indicate a market trend. The Z in the ad has exceptional value added in parts and workmanship and the asking price indicates a not unreasonable value for that particular car. Dennis
  4. One leaf falling from a tree is not an indicator of Autumn. Dennis
  5. Not sure I'd like to explain the heavily tinted side windows and low "headlights" if I were to be stopped by the CHP for not having a front license plate. Dennis
  6. The ad also says it's titled as a '62 Ferrari with an AZ VIN. How do they do that? Dennis
  7. I think the seller also thinks the asking price may be optimistic. There are two choices in the auction - "Buy It Now" for 100K or "Make An Offer". I'm reasonably sure the seller doesn't expect the "Make An Offer" choice to be higher than $100,000. Dennis
  8. There may be a significant difference between "wants" and "gets" on this one. Dennis
  9. Enlightening. Thanks, Dennis
  10. I know the story that goes with USA Thanksgiving. What's the story behind Canadian Thanksgiving? Dennis
  11. I guess that means that Canadian Christmas is just a few weeks away. Dennis
  12. And must be sold from a Beverly Hills address.
  13. Several other question accompany the decision. Here are a few. Can you install the replacement yourself after removing the old dash and instruments? Is $1,800 within your budget? What level of restoration do you desire - show quality or cover the cracks quality? How long do you plan to keep the car? Dennis
  14. You mean like when they drove the Ferrari under the low flying jet and connected the lap top to the ethernet cable hanging from the wheel well? Sorry, but they lost me at that point. The idea for the show is based on a real guy. His technology helped catch the recent Boston Marathon bombers. He's had quite a career that began by hacking into NASA when he was a kid. His real story is a little better than the first episode of the show. Dennis
  15. As mentioned by Galaxybj, the fit was loose enough to let air blow in and let moisture escape. Never had a problem with condensation. In addition to looking good, they kept the snow out of the headlight nacelles in the winter when I lived in the Midwest. Dennis
  16. The BRE front spoiler I bought in 1972 for my Z came in black gel coat. I was in the Air Force at the time and after breaking it by hitting deep snow (it doesn't make a very good plow) I had it repaired on Base and painted with the flat black paint used on C130 radar domes. And so it remains today. Dennis
  17. Whatever you do, keep in mind that buying a vintage Z is like going to a movie at the Dollar Theater. It doesn't cost much to get in, but the popcorn and soda will cost a fortune. Lots of good advice in the previous posts. Dennis
  18. I had a set of their headlight covers installed on my '71 in '72 and they held up for decades. Just needed to do a little grinding to fit into the headlight scoops. Dennis
  19. I enjoyed the watch articles, too. Wasn't aware of Hodinkee. Dennis
  20. My '71 is an April build and came from the factory with a metal fan that eventually went through the radiator after about eight years of service. It was a good reason to upgrade to a larger radiator and a plastic fan. Dennis
  21. I guess I don't understand why that's a problem. You have a password on this site as well as having entered your email address to join. Dennis
  22. You register by using your email address and ANY password that makes you happy. No more need to feel reluctant than you did when registering here. Dennis
  23. Patriotism and Ugly all in one inop package. Who could ask for more? Dennis
  24. Trust issues Expressive language issues Personal integrity issues Paranoia Z issues I could go on. Dennis
