  1. Carl....That makes sense. Seems like with the current interest in the 240Zs, they are coming out of the wood work, but with only that few left, collectors starting to hold on to them and normal attrition, I would think that their value will continue to climb. Missed you in Atlanta....hope to see you soon. Regards Guy

  3. Anyone know if the 172,000 Z’s is world wide or just in the USA? I would guess world wide.
  4. Great job....great thread. BTW, regarding the chrome tape on the door panels. Someone sells the real chrome strips for door panels. Can’t remember who....maybe Zcardepot. I love seeing people getting dirty lol.......keep the pics coming.
  5. Anyone have a somewhat reliable count on approximately how many 240Zs are still left? I wonder if Carl Beck has some insight into this? There were approximately 172,000 sold........It would be curious to know how many restorable cars are left....eh? So many have been crushed....how rare are they? Guy
  6. You might say they were all out of whiskey!
  7. Incredible car.....my friend has one. 147EFADB-FFD9-4493-9849-FE06031898C3.MOV
  8. Hi Jeff....I had my sign made locally....about $600.00. Seems to me that someone on this site bought one of the other signs and was very satisfied with it. Go for it! Guy
  9. If you think he’s tall, you ought to see Cody. I’m enjoying this project......and nice seeing you again at ZCON Charles. Regards Guy
  10. Well played Captain Oblivious!
  11. Don’t be such a stranger Zedy......you are one of my favorite Z peeps!
  12. Very, very nice Moelk. The car sounds and looks terrific! Thanks for the post. Guy
  13. BTW......Cotter pins were added later?
  14. Blue....I’m not an expert, but the Datsun heads are 108mm from upper to lower surfaces. The measurement that are taken are from the top to give you 106mm result (2mm or .080 inches removed). If the head was previously cut .015 inches, the machinist would only cut the head .065 inches. I went back and checked the stats on Eiji’s Stroker that he built for me. The chambers were 44.5 cc’s not 44. I was there when he cc’d the engine, so I watched him cc the number one, number six and the number three chambers. All cc’d at 44.5 cc. Anyone else want to chime in? Guy
  15. You are showing the P90/P79 head cut 2mm with a 46cc chamber. Actually those combustion chambers are 44cc on those two heads after the cut. We (Eiji and me) cc’d The Head......they were 44cc’s. The head in the picture was cut again to give us a chamber cc of 44cc’s.
  16. Yes....The spot weld dimples along the edge of the wheel well......no dimples usually means a cover up bondo job. Not good.
  17. Jughead.....Yes the dogleg is a factory piece. I bought that piece from Danny’s Datsun (no longer is business). I’m not sure what year the dogleg is, but the car is a 71. We had them cut the dogleg forward of the seam so that would remain perfect. We also took care to keep the “dimples” on she edge of the inner fender to show that there was no rust in the metal......important not to fill those dimples IMO.
  18. Yes....That’s where I saw those panels. I tried to buy them too....seller wouldn’t split em up.
  19. Yep, sure did Charles....add a digit and it’s a 73....get that Wayne?
  20. Hi Wayne.....That distance is just under 2 inches on the above 73. BTW, number 16,303 is a 1970 240Z.....it wouldn’t have the offset bracket. Guy
  21. Here’s a thread I started on my 73 auto swap. Seemed to me I initially went with an early pedal and it worked, but at an awkward angle. I later installed a 73 pedal. The 2nd pic is from my thread with the early pedal....the 1st pic (dark pic that I just ran out and took for you) with the 73 pedal. Note how much closer to the brake pedal the 73 is (correct geometry). I’d go with the 73 pedal if it were me. IMO
