  1. Hydraulic lifter engine????
  2. Another kind of Datsun guy.
  3. That car runs out of Milwaukee. WI. Photo was from Road America several years ago. That owner sold the car. The new owner changed it to look like this currently. I prefer the previous look. Once on the track, I do not think the color, dark or light makes any difference on the temp inside the car.
  4. Type 3 for sure if it were me. The type 2 reminds me of this one here. I would also separate the 2 colors with some white.
  5. It does look good. But I have 3 spare heads now. I have other things I need first I guess. I will have a ported E88 head I will be selling after its checked out by the guy doing my N42 head.
  6. How can you tell if its a MN type? The exhaust liners?
  7. This is mine with Vogtland springs and KYB shocks. Front shock travel is short.
  8. Completely true. Then there was the moderator who started selling parts to members and never shipped them. I was one of them who lost some money. The owner and Mods were completely silent. They did not offer any member any help at all. They are POS.
  9. Not me. They are all A-Holes. Too many run ins with them. I also got 3 month suspension a couple times. They made their bed now sleep in it.
  10. Here are the pieces I found. I have no idea what the small ring is, but was under the valve seal. First one shows where it separated at the head.
  11. I dropped off my original N42 head that was on the engine at the machine shop this morning. He is going to tank it, do a surface cut and install all new Nissan valves that I already had. I will just swap my cam kit to this when I get it back. I want to get some more driving in this year while its still warm weather up here. Got a photo coming next.
  12. I will get a picture of it. This is a E31 head with bigger valves and had been raced hard in the past. I sold the race cam and the super nuts stiff Isky springs. I put a smaller Schneider cam and softer Schneider springs in it. I think this was fractured at the time and I never noticed it. I even put the valve seals on it. The plug was a bit wet with oil lately, then when I was on the track Friday it got soaked with oil so bad I was running on 5 cylinders. It finally fully broke I expect.
  13. Found out today what was going on with no. 6 cylinder. Plug was wet with oil. Drove it really hard over the weekend. I pulled the valve springs and the valve seals. Lo and behold the intake guide snapped off at the base of the head. Never saw that before.
  14. A few others from above grid line up.
  15. Qualifying grid from Friday. A couple Zs out from California. Long haul.
  16. Mine is wired the way Mike describes it. That way I can prime the Mikuni's before starting engine. I picked up an inertia cut out switch that I have to install yet.
  17. No I have it correct. The flat end is shown where the overrider goes. My original was longer. Nissans vendor screwed up I think. Poor quality control.
  18. I am attempting to put new bumper rubber strips on my 72Z. As you can see the replacements are shorter. I bought another set and got the same thing. P/N 62690-E4100. Anyone else ever run into this?
  19. Now that I have the float system corrected it is really responsive to the throttle now. Best its been. Now I am looking for my 36mm chokes to try out. Its only been about 25 years since I removed them for the 34mm.
  20. Got the correct Mikuni float needle valves. They are installed and measurement set. What was in mine were the old Grose Jets for those who remember those. Turns out they were set for too high fuel level in bowls. And I also found out they are prone to leaking. On Wednesday I am hoping to run it again. Should be much better. And here I thought It was running pretty good. Did you know there are 5 different models of Mikuni side draft carbs? Wolfcreek shows all 5 on their website so you can ID yours.

  22. Is this supplier any help? https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productselection.asp?Product=3253
  23. They should look like this at full droop.
  24. The package does have 'ATS' marked on it so may well be Atsugi make. And they also have that white paint mark on them. Thanks!
  25. Former BRE Team member and one of the founders of Eletramotive with Don Devendorf. https://www.racer.com/imsa/item/142023-john-knepp-1942-2017
