  1. Okay, here are two of the grandkids in kind of an automotive or at least motor vehicle theme. Mazaria, age 4 in the Harley outfit and Damien, age 8 in the Jeff Gordon outfit.
  2. The harness doesn't have to be changed. What need to be changed are the engine mounted efi components and anything on the engine that has to do with the 76 guages. You probably don't have an intact 76 engine lying around but the easiest fix would be to find one and swap out any of those components on the 83 engine that are different. There a quite a few. The turn signals would have to be a separate problem as they are not related to the engine.
  3. I have grandchildren in the age range you're talking about! My son and my daughter in law are older than many of the members here.
  4. For whatever reason, your links don't work but these should: http://tinyurl.com/ys9nrh http://tinyurl.com/2xcgcv
  5. The method you used on your valve cover is actually the one I prefer. I have a bench grinder and with the cloth wheel and the right compounds, I can achieve that 'mirror' finish. However, it's so much harder to maintain that finish unless you clear coat it after you polish it.
  6. Check with Elvan Meneses at Z Car Speciality in Upland. 909 981 1074. He's been my mechanic for the few things I don't do myself for the last 20+ years. He's knowlegable and fair.
  7. You can download it here for free: http://carfiche.com/manuals022/cars/
  8. Welcome back. You'll have to change your location Denver or whatever Colorado city you're in now. I was actually in Gilroy, Ca. a couple of weeks ago. The Sox are killing your Rockies right now, 13-1.
  9. The day after I made that post (#6), I went to the junkyard in San Bernardino and found another LD28 crank. I paid $45 for it! Like I said, I had sold a couple of them for $250 ea but that one I've kept. It's still in the corner of my garage along with an N42 block but that's as far as I've gotten. It's not for sale however as eventually I'll will get around to compiling the rest of the parts for that project.
  10. The fire came within 1/4 of my sister's house Tuesday morning. She lives in northern San Bernardino, about 3 miles northeast of us. We could see the flames from our house. The fire crews were quick to put it out and, for now, the danger in this area has passed. What is particularly galling is the fact the fire, as well as many of the others, was deliberately set. My daughter-in-law lives about midway between our location and my sister's home so we're all in the same area. We have lots of smoke coming over the mountains from the Running Springs/Lake Arrowhead area.
  11. I really don't think that the Rockies will win the series. They racked up that winning streak against who? A bunch of weak NL teams. With the exception of the Angels, I doubt if they'd beat any of the AL teams that were in the playoffs. At this point in time, the AL is the stronger league. Red Sox in 5.

According to the microfiche it would be HLS30-47009 for the two seater and GHLS30-124742 for the 2+2. 6/78 build date on both. That is for US models.
  14. A first gen RX7 or my 64 Datsun L320.
  15. That's just wrong!ROFLROFLROFL

Keystone Kustomags? I had a set of those on Duster 340 6 Pack years ago. Don't know where to get the caps though.
  17. Here's the pages that cover those. Hopefully they came through clear enough:
  18. Sophomoric is okay sometimes. How about this? And my answer comes directly from her post!
  19. I'm having a little trouble with your terminology. Such as, "cylinder head wall", "razor slit things", "Silver Ring Arch", etc. If your injection ports are clogged, the best thing you can do it remove the intake manifold and clean them, or have someone do it. Since you "loosend up a couple of Intake mounting studs", as you said, I hope you realize that you're now going to have to remove both the intake and exhaust mainfolds and replace that gasket evidenced by the fact that it "still drains even after tighten back the mountin studs". That's telling you that the seal has been compromised. I doubt that your ports don't line up, they just need to be cleaned. Hope you haven't gotten in over your head on this one.
  20. From what I've gathered over the years, people usually form their own windshield from a flat piece of lexan. Lexan scratches very easily and if you should somehow break it, the pieces would be pretty jagged and dangerous. It's shatter resistant but not shatter proof.
  21. It does to me, or at least it doesn't sound like a V8. Even a small V8 would create a hell of a lot more tire smoke at the kind of rpm that sounds like.
  22. A few year's back I researched the 280Z MSRPs. This is what I came up with. I don't recall where I got the figures from, probably KBB or NADA. These are for coupes only, not 2+2s and they include dealer prep, etc. 75 MSRP-$5,479 76 MSRP-$6,669 77 MSRP-$7,429 78 MSRP-$8,878
  23. Saw this on eBay this morning: http://tinyurl.com/2rl7ox
  24. The cd is much easier to navigate.
  25. He was comparing 00087, which he feels is a good car to another one which is also selling presently for the same price (8M JPY) but is a 'bad example,a not good condition Z432'. He compared the price of 00087 two years ago and of the other car a year ago to the present asking price to give a general idea of how much the price has risen over there in those time periods. That's how I read it.
