24 months of intensive restoration, and I'm almost done.
I just blogged about this today in my own blog. Someone pointed me to an article about the car over at Autoblog this morning and I wanted to share it. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/03/28/ebay-find-of-the-day-worlds-best-datsun-240z-resto-mod/ They are calling this the best 240z resto-mod. Congrats on the project, AND the sale. Hopefully you came out ahead either in love or price.. or both.

Is there anything I should really get from the cars in the local junkyard?
Grab the interior panels if they look any good. Door panels especially.

Site updates
Agreed, I don't see the sea foam colors and there *shouldn't* be an option to change the colors. As far as I know... This new software has so many new things there could be some kind of option.

Site updates
The past 3 days I worked on the club website updates! No Z work, but ... well... I guess it could be considered work.

Vintage Z pictures
I also noticed we have a Vintage Z Racing category in our gallery. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=3403 I moved both of these to a common "Vintage Z Photos" category so they both appear under the same heading. This should help people find the vintage photos a lot easier. Have fun. Mike

Vintage Z pictures
I created a vintage Z photo gallery some time ago in our gallery. I think it's a little hard to find, but, here's the link: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=512 I should probably rename it to vintage Z photos or something similar. Right now it's called "Blast from the Past" and that's a little hard to find. Anyway, there are some pretty nice photos in there so far. Would love to see these get put in there because linking to external sites with photos eventually become broken. If they are in our database, they will remain here forever. Mike

Datsunland Museum article
I remember one of our members, bobc was part of some fund raising for the museum. Take a look at this thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30905 You might be able to get in touch with him to find some current data.

Daves NEW Start/Stop Button Ignition System.
Dave, I also think it's a cool idea, but, came up with a few questions. I assume you are posting this to retrieve feedback about the idea. So, here goes. Dave, unless it's a race car, I don't see how you can secure the vehicle against someone just opening the door, pushing the button, and driving away with your car. Have you thought about security? AFIK, the push-button technology works only on newer cars if the key-fob is present in (or near) the vehicle. I haven't looked into the method they use (some kind of RFID I assume), but, without this in place I don't see how this push button can be used in more markets than just race cars or cars rarely driven and protected in a garage. If it plugs directly into the existing wiring, this is a benefit for your product. I think it would be really cool if you took this idea to the next level. Perhaps integrate RFID and tie it to a specific alarm manufacturer. Mike

Annoying tag line to Z classifieds
I fell for a missing A/C belt at one time. Guy told me that it worked, but, the belt came off and it just needed to be replaced. HA.

Hello Everybodies!
Just like the rules among friends at home, never get into politics or religion. That's my motto anyway. The one rule I created waaaaaay back, always make sure every thread has something to do with Z cars. Z related posts are always welcome here, everything else is subject to recycle. Except a few good boobs of course. M

Hello Everybodies!
Hi guys, and hello Yorgo.. We welcome anyone to the site, it's not a place where we discriminate against anyone. We are very proud if our Z-related content as I believe our site sets us apart as a serious place as a classic Z club. Arne is correct, we are welcome to minor useless banter here but it's not a place to start flame wars or argue without a point. I'm a huge fan of interesting topics, you can find much of my work in the boobs thread. As far as the day-to-day operations, we have a few awesome guys keeping track of the site. I am the owner, but, I really only own the code and the servers. The content is owned by everyone. Arne is our admin as he's got some of that super power ability, without letting it get to his head. Well, not yet anyway. haha We do have a leadership advisory team that consists of about 5-6 people as well. Much of the site is maintained and kept up to date by volunteers. I'm sorry to see that zcar.com has gone away to some ad agency? They seemed to fit a niche. But, things like that change all the time. Profit isn't always a good motivator as you can tell with this site... we CARE about our club... but the profit is very limited. Anyway, I'm moving off topic. Thanks for joining the site and I hope you enjoy your time with the other members. Mike

classified posting question
Yep, and if you aren't already logged in when you go to that site, simply use the login link with your same user account info from this site. After you login, you'll see a link called "Place an Ad"... And, it should be downhill from there. Let me know if you have any troubles. Mike

Motorsport's Z Event
I think there was also another Classic car event in CA that weekend last year. Not a bad idea to move the MSA show to a unique date. I know it's a lot of work, but, a 3-day event is the best... gives me a reason to be in the area for the entire weekend! Thanks for the update, Greg!! Mike

Skate Boarding - Z Boys
I used to live in the Seattle area in the early 80's. We used to make our own long board skate boards with custom wood and handles so we could run down the steep hills. It was awesome, wish I would have kept my boards. I think they call it street louge now. We would make all kinds of boards. Man, I should have started a company building these things. I remember saving up cash from my paper route to buy boards and parts.
