Registration for Datsun Driving Canby Fun 2010 (Oregon) is now open.
Ah, yes I forgot the $40 entry fee is only if you register day of the show. If I pre-registered, the fee is less money. Maybe next year I'll throw a set of SU's on there and see what happens in the stock class. We all need to represent the club with a sticker or something as well. Maybe we should assign someone to that task.

Replica Inspection stickers

Registration for Datsun Driving Canby Fun 2010 (Oregon) is now open.
I would guess there were probably more cars in the open parking area this year. The show car area seemed to have a lot more trucks and 510's than Z's or roadsters but the balance wasn't too bad for a small show. But, a majority of the cars were in the open parking area. The entry fee of $40 to compete and $5 for the open parking area is a pretty big difference. I would think more people would want to compete if the club brought those numbers closer to each other. I don't have a lot of experience doing this kind of thing, but, a parking fee of $10 and a show fee of $30 might work. I always thought the parking fee was pretty low and I've never been in a competition, so I could be way off. Anyway, I had a great time. It was a good place to see everyone and get excited about Datsun again.

Canby 2010
We showed up in the afternoon today and I was impressed at all the cars. We drove down the highway and found a nice place by the river for the night. Tomorrow we will be there to have some more fun. What a perfect weekend for the show. Forecast says 74f for Sunday. That's a great temp for walking around a park looking at zed's. See you guys there!! Mike

Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty 2010
Sounds like it's going to be an awesome event! Can I rely on someone to take photos and upload them to the club gallery? I'll make sure there's a folder in the 2010 events section.

I also noticed, via Facebook, that Grassroots Motorsports Magazine is showing off a Nissan 370z personally modified by Peter Brock. They have some photos and things growing on their FB profile. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/grassrootsmotorsports

Was the site down today?
Also, THANK YOU for the recent donations to the club. I'm putting together some pretty cool upgrades and we'll use the money to improve the site.

Was the site down today?
Hi guys. Yes, I'm SO sorry the site went down yesterday. Godaddy tried to renew the domain, but, our Paypal account appeared to have been locked. They weren't able to process the payment, thus, our domain name expired. This was a total shock to me, so, I decided to check it out. After logging into the Paypal website and a few phone calls, I discovered they locked the account because of a paperwork issue. Not knowing why they needed paperwork, I asked for the reason. Apparently, they thought we were a public non-profit organization. I'm really not sure how they determined this, but, subsequently they locked all access to the account. Needless to say, this royally pissed me off. I contacted Paypal, again, and had a stern conversation with someone in the customer service department. I told them we were simply a car club and donations were used to pay for our server dues, internet fees, and software subscriptions. I told the lady that our club was at their mercy because of our domain expiration. She was actually very helpful and pushed the issue through the Paypal review committee within 3-4 hours. Apparently they committee actually looked at our website and determined that we are a real car club. Why didn't they do this before locking the account? That was my question. Not sure, but, all is clear. Godaddy actually called me and a lady helped us get back online within just a few minutes. Paypal? Can't live with 'em... can't live without 'em. They are the only real game in town providing this kind of service. If there was another service like Paypal, I'd consider moving over. They do have great services, but, on the other hand I've NEVER had a bank lock an account like they did. I literally had no way to access the money due to the paperwork issue -- no transfers, no withdrawals, no debit card purchases, nothing... Scary, huh? Anyway, the domain is fine and we are completely back online. I don't know for sure, but, I think we were only offline from 8am to 2pm PST. Again, I'm sorry this happened, just something we had to go through.

Motorsport Auto's 2010 West Coast Nationals
Guys, I had a meeting with Greg and Joseph a few weeks ago. They are planning to announce the plans for the event very soon. Their plan is to send out a flyer in the mail and then announce it here immediately following the flyer. Just thought you should know so we aren't making assumptions. So, be sure to watch your mailbox and check back here often. Mike

370z or Not
Speaking as someone with too many cars, I know where you're coming from. My advice is to sell the one you really don't need. I suspect you'll have a great time with the 370z. It's not going to be as comfortable as your Infiniti, but, is a lot of fun. I suggest you keep the early mileage 240z, the roadster, and then sell the rest to get your 370z.

What is rude behavior on a thread?
Nice poll... I voted #1. Not sure what you are talking about with the USA -related items, but, I suspect it's supposed to be funny... haha Oh, and I didn't see the original date of the poll. It's a bit old. Oops...

Z-Specialties - Broke into and ripped off, HELP!!
Or, it was someone they know. That's usually the way it works. I was a victim at my office many years ago and discovered the thief was the son of my partner.

24 months of intensive restoration, and I'm almost done.
This is just plain awesome. I've gone through your posts and replaced your links to youtube with the "embedded" code to allow the videos directly in the forum. This makes it easier to play the video directly in the forum post. Anyway, you've already received a ton of compliments on this project. But, many of us just love to see projects come together like this. It's a fun way to keep the love of this hobby going... I can't believe the work you've done and I respect a man who likes to do it right the first time. Great job and thanks for inspiring me again. Now that most of my other projects are completed, I'm going to get back into the Z. Oh, and WELCOME to the Yellow Z Owners Association!! haha Mike

Hi Guys, what's up with this post? Why did dhp123166 go through and erase all of his posts? Can someone please PM me on this history of this thread? Thanks.

Any thought on having a car wrapped in vinyl?
Great idea, but, wouldn't this cause more problems like rust?

What do you think about a print version "Tips, Tricks, and Mods" guide?
Yes, it's a good idea. But, I don't think it's a practical. Tips tricks and mod ideas will always be changing. A book is a static resource that doesn't change. There is also a huge potential for copyright issues if you take internet media and start printing and selling it as your own.
