  1. I will check that out! I know what you are referring to. The slotted holes allow for some movement. Maybe I need to look at my TC rod adjustment.
  2. It just makes no sense. Geometry is what it is. Me thinks their is some rubbing..
  3. I have no idea how you are lowered on 15x8's and not rubbing like crazy in the front. It boggles my mind.
  4. Just to clarify, if you have an aftermarket front spoiler like dmorales and mike show in the picture, then the front can take a LOT more tire. ON a 240, the factory body work curves back under versus following the side. Then the tire turns, it rotates a bit forward as well and can rub while backing up some times. It just really depends on the amount of lowering and the tire and wheel combo. But anything over a 205 on my car and I will rub the dickens out of my front tires if I turn them to full lock.
  5. I was about to say NO WAY on earth you are running 225's on a stock bodied Z uniess you have coilovers. And you have. So I will shut up.
  6. I think it has been beat to death, but body color is perfect. If it were a euro chin spoiler or BRE then you can get away with matte black, but those eurothane style need to be painted. siteunseen, you are killing me by posting that orange Z. Almost makes me want to put fender flares on mine! STOP IT
  7. Hey a silver Z car with Eibachs and panasports... Man that is a good look. Probably the best combination ever in the history of all things Z's.
  8. The front valance dramatically helps tire fitment...Looks good.
  9. Keep this in mind. An engine with a shorter stroke will tend to be happier revving a bit, and an engine with a longer stroke will be happier at lower rpm. Long stroke motors tend to make some nice mid range torque. The angle at which the rod and cylinder centerline differ is something to think about. None of this means your engine build will not be terrific. Just that engines have different attitudes and stroke length is just one variable to consider.
  10. Agreed, no way I would have acquired my car for what I did in 2008 I almost look smart for purchasing both my datsuns right before this price increase... It is almost as if I know what I am doing... Which assuredly I do not.
  11. please do!! Z's are not well represented in Jolly old England!
  12. You give me too much credit my good man. What i have learned I learned from my fellow Z jedi masters here on this sight and an unhealhty addition to fixing things. I certainly hope we can all meet one day. I would like to see 187
  13. Congrats!!! I was SCRAPPYDO on the BaT website. Good to see you hear and posting already. We are on your side. Welcome and please do not hesitate to post whatever you find! I promise you, the interest in their with this car.
  14. You are making me want to try 45 DCOEs.. Curse you!
  15. I have been following that one as well. Another Z in the latest RASH of Z's that have hit the market. But this one is extremely original and drive able. I am looking to see how far in the 20's it may go. I think it may hit 30.
  16. You the man Mike. Can't wait to hang out with you an Alex again! Save beer or three for me.
  17. I think the stripes are not expensive. Do one side and have a look. You can always peel them off. I never thought I would put them on, but I did and I am very happy.
  18. You get out of my head you evil man! On a really cool note. I took the time to mess with my air correctors this weekend. I swapped out my thermostat and while the engine was warm I had a chance to try out my sync tool. All of them were close to flowing the same volume of air. However cylinders number 2 and number 6 were flowing a tad bit less air. Having never touched my air correctors since the 40's were new, I gave it a shot to see what I could do. I lightly backed off the jam nut and opened up the screw. The air flow quickly came up to match cylinders 1 and 5 and now all 6 cylinders are dead nuts even at idle. And speaking of idle, the engine smoothed out even more than it was and it seems to be snappier off idle now. I guess I am a believer in the air corrector adjustment.
  19. Great googly moogly. Guess what happens when you install a 160°F thermostat.. you run much much cooler. I use to be on the M on my T E M P guage, and now I am barely to the E. THAT IS 8 whole letters of the alphabet cooler!!! I would say that is a huge improvement. My car loves the temp. I am looking forward to seeing how the oil pressure reacts with a cooler running motor.
  20. COTA is the main reason I am going!! To take my Z on COTA is a thing I cannot pass up. Just no way. Mike is ZCON going to have a professional photographer their to snap up some pics we can download later? If not maybe that would be a good idea. I would certainly pay for a quality high def photo. Man Almost a month, I am totally psyched!
  21. Woody, I love your thread and pics, and your story is enthralling. A rolling restoration is always fun, as you get to experience the little improvements as you go. Keep your nose to the grindstone and keep pressing forward. Take the small victories to get you through the hard times. You may make me buy a set of 16" wheels.
  22. I still want a close ratio 5 speed. My Z needs a 5th gear with the 3.90 rear diff in it. I think one day I will just happen to find one.
  23. I always wondered if the redline water wetter is simply insulating the temp probe. I have no reason to doubt the product at all, but I am always leery of products in a bottle that promise things. I have never read a bad review of the stuff. But the conspiracy theorist in me always wondered..
  24. Looking forward to it Mike. I agree, I have never overheated the car. But was thinking of giving it a try. It is an easy enough switch over. Hate disposing of coolant though. I remember the good old days of just dumping it on weeds....
